Vlasic would probably be 3rd pairing on PIT, and the fact that his contract is a lot longer than Johnson's makes it that much bulkier. It could definitely come back to bite them. That and the fact that they are paying that much to 1 player rather than it being spread out across 2 players makes it that much harder for a perennial contender like PIT to avoid hitting the ceiling

Pittsburgh is the kind of atmosphere where Vlasic can reclaim his game. I think he would do well there tbh.

I do think he would do well there, but he would definitely play behind Dumo and Marino, so they are kind of just paying twice as much they would for the minutes they would be getting out of Johnson for twice as long.

Would absolutely bolster our D core.. 5.77M is a little much.. but we honestly could trade away a 1st+3rd to dump his salary if we needed too that we got back in this trade..

I know what you're saying but Vlasic is capable of being one of the more dominant shutdown dmen in the league. Given the right partner and play style.

I like this roster a good deal. More depth is always nice. Also getting rid of Vlasic is certainly an upside.

Honestly for me it's less about dumping Vlasic's salary as it is getting a chance to see Pasichnuk and Knyzhov at LD sooner than later.

Tough. I’d say yes because dumping Vlasic is huge. I’d hate to see Johnson actually play on the ice though

GMJR has two words for that trade. The first starts with an F and the Last ends with an F. I'm sure you can figure out the letters inbetween.
Ain't no way in hell they are taking on that awful contract. 6 more years, you couldn't dump that with 2 1st round picks. You can't even buy it out that contract is so awful.
You are stuck with that bad decision making because no one is going to take that off you.

You're talking like I am Doug Wilson himself. Try to take it easy man, my god you're like a 5 year old who just dropped all his sweets.

The fact that his brother just left, who I felt like deserved to be resigned, probably means that SJ isn’t keeping J mids around either, doesn’t make much sense since to keep him anyways.

No, I don't think Middleton will play in the NHL again. He just isn't that good.
