Jokiharju isn’t going anywhere, this is never going to happen. Miller for Bennett isn’t a good trade anyway.

Detroit doesn’t want to take dumps for future considerations. They aren’t running a charity.

Personally I go with Gaudette he's almost 5 years younger.

And Rackell had more points than Gaudette at 23 and this year, too. Experience has value but to be fair to your side of the evaluation, so does length of team control.

In terms of the current better player, Rakell. In terms of on the Sabres, Gaudette because he plays center.

I am fully aware that we aren't trading Joki, heck we aren't trading any of our RHD probably. Miller for Bennett would be a good trade for us

Well I look at Detroit's roster and I only see one goalie for you guys next year, unless you wanna overpay for a FA I suggest Hutton as a backup option, would certainly help you guys tank

Detroit could easily go bargain bin shopping for goalie with better performance though or acquire one that would need to be exposed in the ED. So, why would we do Buffalo a favor?

The FA goalie pool this year sucks, none of the good names are coming to play in net for Detroit. Why trade assets for a goalie when you literally get one for free

Lehner, Markstrom, Greiss, etc. on the FA market plus teams like Pitt that will have to decide which one of their tandem to keep before Seattle ED. You don’t know which players what to go where or how much each team is offering. You can have Abdelkader and Nielsen for free since Hoffman/Dadonov/etc. aren’t going to Buffalo. Seems like a good sales pitch huh?

None of the goalies you just listed want to come to Detroit because they will get lit up for the first few seasons since Detroit will still stink for a while. Hutton only has one year left and his contract is under 3 mil. Comparing him to Abdelkader with 3 years left at 4.25 mil per and Nielsen with 2 more at 5+ mil isn't even a close comparison. Glendening is a more comparable situation and I'd gladly take him on for FCs

I was being a little sarcastic as to your sales pitch. Glendening actually has worth since he’s a good defensive 4C while Hutton is a pure cap dump/AHL goalie at this time.

You also have no idea what goalie will go where. Some will be motivated money, destination, relationships, etc. to claim otherwise is just ignorant. There is probably about a dozen goalies I’d take over Hutton so again, why does Detroit do Buffalo a favor? Think of it this way. If Hutton was serviceable, why is Buffalo moving him?
