The Wild do need help up the middle, so I have to imagine they'd be a good suitor for Johnson. I know you have to make money work, but I don't think the Wild would retain any salary. I think you'd be better asking for a draft pick, 2-way, or ELC instead of Donato in return. A guy like Nico Sturm or Gerald Mayhew who were bubble bottom 6 players that couldn't crack the Wild's depth this year, but would certainly slot in next year (assuming) with Koivu and Galchenyuk gone.

Sturm + 2021 5th for Johnson?

Strum is penciled in as the 4C next year, I don't see him being moved. Mayhew isn't a NHL player.

I don't see MN having much interest in Johnson. His contract isn't good, he had a meh year, and he's not young anymore.

Not a big deal but Wings aren't adding a pick considering they're doing TB a favor financially

I agree they have equal value.

You are right but you could argue that TB is doing Detroit a favor as well trading a RD for an equal value LD freeing a up a spot on the right side for Drysdale.
