Description
After watching the series vs EDM Nylander and Strome just seemed lost. Might as well move them now while you could still get something good for them.

Didn't really want to trade Maatta or Koekoek because they have played well, but it's time to let the kids play and clear Maatta's cap.

Literally the only game those two looked bad was Game 2. Otherwise they weren't great, but Nylander for sure had chances.

No thanks from Winnipeg. Far too hefty a price.

Nylander = 4 games, 0 points, -2
Strome = 4 games, 1 point, -3

At least one of them needs to go if not both. Maybe let them both simmer for one more year I guess, but they are skating on thin ice...pun intended

Your logic to support that claim is?

Hawks dont win the series if Strome doesnt stop the bleeding off Smith early in game 1 and Nylander doesnt force several loose pucks on the forecheck

Buyout Smith...most importantly and absolutely keep Koekko as a 7th man if nothing else. The guy is solid.

Caggs won't get that much, more likely $1.75M. That said, Shaw is playing so I'm okay with moving Caggs.

Carlsson over Beaudin (for now) and definitely Seeler.

Explained right above. Keeping a 2nd/3rd line guy (Nylander) who can't even put up 1 point in 4 games in a playoff series. If he blanks or doesn't put up more then 1 point again in the Vegas series, he needs to be traded or play on the 4th line until further notice.

I mean the playoffs are tough, no one said it would be easy.

I understand the logic of trading Strome, you can get a good piece for him.

Trading Nylander, who is still on his ELC, makes no logical sense, except to quench the pure hatred come Chicago fans have for him.

Trading Nylander before he becomes complete bust status to make room for guys like Suter, Kurashev, Hagel, even Sikura. Nylander is timid and dumb as a box of rocks.

So agree and sharks would jump to give a late 2nd for a kid with his potential

Lol haven't seen enough of Sikura to call it quits yet? Kura isn't ready. Suter will have a chance at a spot, but it doesn't have to be Nylanders spot. Have is best used as a 4th liner.

Nylander still has the best NHL potential of all of them.

I mean what are the chances of getting someone as good as nylander is right now with a pick at the end of the second round? Can't be favorable to the hawks.

He's dumb as a box of rocks...Sikura is smart. I'll take a smart over natural talent all day

If I may: I’ve been saying for a few weeks now that I am desperately trying to find reasons to like nylander. I really really am. He does have potential. He has skill. When he actually cares, he actually skates hard.

On the flip side, nylander, as stated above, is serious dumb. A player with his skill set and potential as a good playmaker is absolutely nothing without the vision and awareness to use said skills. Suffice to say, I still haven’t seen enough to be encouraged on nylander. I do love all the names ChiHawk mentioned, and while Suter is obviously the most ready of them, they all show that nylander is replaceable to me. They may all not be ready, but the strome for a 1st and greenway idea is certainly an attractive one.

Nylander is a fine talent, but with all the skill and talent around him, he just isn’t doing anything to stand out.
ChiHawk and Hawks_Are_Dumm liked this.
