that JJ contract is one year and a buyout. It cost the same to buy him out for 2 years as it does to play him for 1. His contract will be bought out at the end of next year no matter what.

If it’s bought out after next year doesn’t that leave something on the cap for the 4 years following that? My knowledge of buyouts is two thirds the remaining money over twice the remaining term which it never is lol I hate how messed up they make all that. Agreed, but De Haan has looked good in the playoffs and Murray is an RFA that didn't start his team's final game. I personally don't think the hawks need to add a 3rd rounder when your d-corps need some work (not at the level the hawks do though). Getting rid of Jack Johnson is a good idea after his showing this playoffs.
