Labanc put up 56 points in the NHL at 23 years old before heading into the disaster that was this year.
Kyrou put up 9 points in 28 games at 22 (or 21).

Labanc has proven himself to be a high scoring player, Kyrou has hardly played, and isn't super young. he has 1 year left on his contract.
He's arguably a worse prospect that Chmelevski, if a trade was offered 1 for 1 Chmelevski for Labanc + 2 3rds, someone would get shot.

no way he's worse than Chemelevski

Yeah sounds about right for Labanc's next contract

I mean say he signs for 3.5 million and we take Bozak we're freeing about 2.2 in cap space and we gave you a middle 6 right wing for a middle 6 right wing and took another 3rd line C/RW. You should be able to find a decent 3c for 2.2.

And again, I did misread the trade and thought the Blues were adding the picks. Kyrou+Bozak for Labanc and a few picks is fair value wise, maybe a bit slanted towards SJ depending on who STL drafts with those picks and how good Kyrou ends up being. It really does depend how seriously we still are on Pietrangelo because if we're going to keep him we're going to have to shed Bozak while keeping Kyrou's cheap deal.

The cap reaper comes for us all.

Chmelevski, who despite spending almost the first half of the year injured had only 6 points less PNHLe than Kyrou (based on AHL, which was better for him). With Chmelevski being a much more 2-way player on a terrible AHL team, all while being a year younger. I would take him over Kyrou almost any day.

Having Granlund and Galchenyuk in the middle will sink the Sharks.

All of these trades are fine. I personally wouldn't do the Kyrou one, as others have expressed. Also you could probably swipe Galchenyuk/Granlund/Fast for 500k less each. It's definitely hard to tell what each would sign for, but under a flat cap, I don't see any of them getting that much. Especially considering Granlund and Galchenyuk should both be on 'prove it' contracts. I really don't think Galchenyuk is a center though. Expecting any sort of defensive responsibility out of him is risky business.

Maybe trade Labanc for picks (late 1st, or early 2nd), forget the Kyrou trade, move Galchenyuk to RW, move Jumbo to 3C and Kellman to 4C? Then just fill in 4LW.

Kyrou had way more points though

also in both of they're last seasons in the OHL they both played the same amount of games but Kyrou had a whopping 34 more points! Kyrou also averaged about a point per game last season where he was the same age as Chmelevski who wasn't even close to a point per game.

Problem is we don't want Labanc, and couldn't afford to pay him even if we did, and we're not trading Kyrou. Bozak will cost a 3rd if you want him.

If we take Bozak and Kyrou and give you Labanc that gives you extra cap space so you definitely could afford him.

I mean that's why you would list them as a center but really their games are not suited to a center. Galchenyuk can't handle the defensive side of it. Granny isn't the same player when asked to play center.

We're not using extra space gained to pay for a player we don;t want over our captain. Again, we do not want Labanc. Again, we are not trading Kyrou. Obviously.
