Not sure it works for either team. In principal yes it’s the right kind of deal. But with the potential for Boston to lose both Krug and Chara to free agency/ retirement this offseason, they can’t afford to move Carlo.

If it did go through it leaves the Leafs in a bad spot in a year when Carlo needs a new contract. With Tielly and Hyman due the year after cap control now is super important. I think any D man they bring in needs to be either a 1 year UFA or have at least 3 years term

In a heartbeat bro!

I really doubt Boston would be on board though.

Now you just need to clear out a few more of the underperforming forwards IMO. (Kapanen).

The 4th line needs more affordable "jam" too.

I see no need for Gauthier at all anymore TBH.

Boston isn't going to help you get better. I love nylander but he isgonna improve boston less than you adding debrusk and Carlo. Those dudes are hard to play against.

DeBrusk would be moved out in the next offseason to make space for signings.

Also I'm not sure the Leafs will even re-sign Andersen if they get eliminated in game 7 or don't make the playoffs again next year.

Nylander is on a very good contract for a 60-70 point player whose still improving and could be a PPG player sooner than later.

Nylander is clearly the best piece in the trade. Toronto's not just gonna give him up for free. Of course Boston would have to give some nice pieces for him.

Nylander > Carlo
DeBrusk > Johnsson

I think it's a fair trade.

Due to the lack of defensive RHD, I’m not even sure Boston would do Nylander for Carlo straight up

Which is a good one btw but I agree that Sweeney quickly reject this trade

I'm sure they would. There are a lot of good defensive RHD on the free agency. It's just Toronto can't afford them...

Boston has plenty of cap space if Krug decides to leave.

Carlo is a core part of a Stanley cup contending team. They aren’t trading him and his cheap contract to grab an expensive second line winger. This just shows a profound lack of knowledge of boston, and i guess ability to just look at the team and realize their clear needs.

easy no from Boston. Carlo is our defensive horse when Chara calls it a career and no way does Boston help Toronto with their biggest weakness.

Oh I think the value is on point. I just think it make Toronto harder to play against so I wouldnt do it. I just think boston benifits less from adding scoring than Toronto gains by adding the defense and grit they get from Carlo and debriusk. Now if it was out of division boston thinks about it more.
