Description
I'm assuming Jersey says no, but I think that could be the ground work potentially. This should have been the 21-22 season with the extra cap space spent on Petry, Tatar and Gallagher and a year to mature for Holtz, Perfetti and Caufield. The habs are close to having a team that can consistently win. A strong move in this years draft might be the last piece of the puzzle. This gives them a sick top 9 and with Romanov, Struble and Notlinder coming they are set for years to come. Their only weak area would be youth at RD. But maybe Juulsen, Fleury or Brook can hit their ceiling and that would be a non issue..

AS IF they say no to that steal of a package! Danault is better than Domi and Armia combined and there are many many many proposals for Domi and Armia or Domi + Mete or Domi + 2nd for 8th OVA!

Thought they were trying to make the playoffs? Danault would be an absolute perfect fit in Buffalo as their number 2 center. And Armia a perfect third line winger. This probably gets them close to the playoffs. Stop wasting Eichel's prime!

He may be better defensively (is, not a question). He’s also topped out at 13 goals at age 27. For a team like Buf who is already top ten 5v5 goals against, and minimal scoring talent, the last thing they need is a phenomenal defensive forward with limited offense. The value might be there, it doesn’t take team need into consideration

Even when taking teamm needs into account. All 30 teams take Danault + Armia for 8th OVA simply because they know they can flip them for more. I mean Danault on his own gets an unprotected 1st and 3rd or A prospect (resigned) Add at least a 2nd for Armia.

Yeah now your changing the argument. Before it was he’s a perfect compliment. When he’s not. Now it you can get more futures. 8OA is a gamble. A gamble that can pay off big. Danault would be a march to a WC spot or just missing. No thanks

Buffalo has good defensive forwards already. Like when Habs fans were doing Domi for 8th overall it’s still a no. Buffalo has a horrible prospect pool, they could maybe trade the 2021 first instead.

No my previous arguement was the same Danault has more value than what is being offered! Every team in the league takes Danault and Armia for 8th OVA. Even if it is not what they need, they still take that deal and flip them.

I think you confusing people's posts. I never said he was a perfect compliment! I said.

That doesn't get you any top 6 forward let alone a top 6 Center

Edit* maybe you could get Kapanan from the Leafs with a 2021 1st I hear he is a top 6 forward LMAO

Vancouver got Jt Miller in 2019 for a 2020 pick.

Yeah cause Tampa is desperate for space but what top 6 Center do you think Tampa will give up for a 2021 1st? No one!

Either way Buffalo isn’t trading their first rounder this year.

It’s rare for teams to trade a valuable asset like 8OA to just try to flip it for more futures later.. why not just draft at 8 and hope you hit? Seems like you really want Buf fans to agree to the deal... wonder why that is.

I could care less if buffalo fans agree or not Danault will not be traded anyway. So it's a moot point

I agree the only worry part of the trade is whether there is an extension with Danault
