Sounds right. Cap dump for cap dump. Thanks

For the record, I’m not a Pit fan
Just trying to prove to one that no one wants Bjugstad & he isn’t getting anything in a trade for him

He is already on the Penguins. Are you saying you would trade a 4th or a 5th along with him to get rid of him??

hes a 6 foot 6 centre that struggled with injuries but has proven he can be an effective 3C or even 2C and only has 1 year left, a team will take a gamble on him.

A team like Detroit could:
acquire jugs for a 6th round pick, he has a good season, retain, and then flip him for a 3rd

You have a firm grasp of the blatantly obvious. No the pens wouldn’t be adding a pick to get rid of him. An opposing GM would trade a 4th or 5th round pick for Bjugstad alone. Only idiots would think the pens would have to add to get rid of a 28 yr old former 40+ point 1st round pick with only one year left on his deal. Low risk move for any team looking for a 3C.

He carries a 4.1 million cap hit. Teams are going to be very tight with what they spend , especially a player with serious injury concerns. Were he healthy he probably does fetch a 4th or a 5th. Coming off a couple of major injuries and no good hockey for the past two seasons to fall back on he is likely bought out or kept by the Pens. He will need to prove that he can be an effective player again before he gets any return

Or he remains the oft injured ineffective player he has been the last 2 years and he is a waste of 4 million when every team is losing money and he does not even get qualified at the end of next season.

his underlying numbers are very solid. when hes healthy theres no reason hes not a good 3C. a team will 100% take a gamble on him. you will see, and I will laugh

If you feel that way I would think you would be disappointed if the Pens move him for a late pick which holds basically no value

not at all, because Pens need to move cap and at the end of the day, they're gonna have to sell low on some players. Its accepting reality

They have plenty of dead weight that they could move to clear cap space as opposed to highly valuable players.

I never said Jugs was "highly valuable". I said a team will take him and that is the consensus with articles that I read

Teams are always looking for Centers, especially at deadline. If he can stay healthy he can be flipped. A 6'6 is very helpful come the playoffs.
His problem is injury. But it's a contract year, he has to man up if he even wants to sniff a chance at a contract the year after.
So my guess is he plays good next year. Otherwise, it's his last. Someone takes that gamble...and probably someone else gets burnt the year after.

I think if Buffalo has issues finding a legit # 2 Center I would go after him. He obviously won't cost a lot to obtain.

Except he blows... so we’d definitely pass
That 4mil can be MUCH better used elsewhere...
which is exactly why Pens fans would ship him out for basically nothing
