    1. No way Jarry signs a contract with that low of a cap hit for more than a year
    2. Honka has greater value than what you are offering
    3. The draft pick would probably have to be a first round which, if you're trying to get younger, trading away a 1st round pick probably isn't what you want to do
    4. Again trading Murray for an older top 9 player is both inconsistent with your theme and doesn't help with the rebuild

I’d swap Honks for Riikola. Don’t really need Rodriguez

in 98 games McCann has scored 25 goals. It averages out to 21 goals per season.
I don't think they are paying out the nose for Domi. I don't think the production level will be that much bette.
McCann might be inconsistent but he's young. He was only 23 this year. At 22 Domi had just had back to back 9 goal seasons.
We can hold onto McCann, it's not about talent, it's consistency. And the goals per cost will probably be much cheaper on the cap.

1.) It has been reported that Jarry would command a contract like Jordan Binnington of STL, which was a contract worth $8.8M. Jarry has done less than Binnington; so lets go with a contract worth $8M. There's no way PIT signs Jarry to a 1-year deal (Jarry is an RFA he has no real leverage to ask for that). No way PIt signs Jarry to a 2 year deal, because that would walk Jarry to UFA. SO a 3 yr deal of an $8M contract is $2.667M AAV.

2.) He hasn't played in a year and hasn't played close to a full season in his career. He has value based on potential. That is it. PIT is offering roster players in this scenario. It's more than generous.

3.) The likelihood of 15OV Pick making enough of an impact on the Sid/Geno window is low. I'd rather send it out for a still young player in Domi.

4.) PIT isn't rebuilding. PIT desperately needs a 3C and Ryan provides that.

I'd like to add to that. If Pittsburgh would've wanted to trade a first rounder for a guy this summer the common sense would tell you to give the 2020 pick to Minnesota instead of differing to an unprotected one just so you can trade the 2020 pick to someone else. Montreal would've -I guess- loved doing a deal including a great prospect and mid round picks or a 2021 protected 1st with prospects.
Now there's two outcome to this, either GMJR is really convinced that his team's going far in the playoff next year and doesn't care about having two 1st rounders gone even if his whole team's getting onto the older side of things (I was surprised that there's no one under 24 on that team) and knowing fully that his prospect pool's trash (Latest THW ranking has them at 30 out of 31 teams and that's before they traded Addison...) or he's keeping his first rounder this year, the latter being the most probable cause he ain't dumb.

    2, Honka has zero value.
    3. I assume this is for the Domi trade. Domi is in not way Legare, McCann, and a 1st.
