Realistic 2020-21 Roster Who Do You Think Were Drafting at 16

Who do you think Bergevin, Mellanby and Timmins are going to pick at 16? My money is on Jarvis if he’s available, but there’s plenty of good options at 16.

I think Braden Schneider would be a great pick. they have no promising RHD prospects

I hope we don't get to draft at 16... Really. At this point, I prefer any pick between 28-31. We need to be in a final.

Fair deal for Domi. I don't know if he will stay a habs even though we love him a lot.

The lineup isn't that good to be honest. Its a fragile top 6. It can do a lot of damage if Drouin shows up. Drouin showed how magical and how he can litterally be a game changer when he's playing well. However he never shows any consistency on his game so far. Its one good game next to a 100 bad games,

Also, our lineup needs a goal scorer. We have to help the young centers to improve by giving them top 6 player on the wings. It needs a Max Pacioretty there. Caufield ? Still young and we don't know yet if he will fit in the NHL with his height.

Aside from the top 12 prospects that are certainly going before 16th, my list would be:

    1. Seth Jarvis
    2. Dylan Holloway
    3. Dawson Mercer
    4. Kaiden Guhle

Well of course everyone wants to make the conference finals. That doesn’t mean it’s likely to happen, though.

hes a very good D prospect. Every team could use a guy like him. theres a reason every mock has him in the mid teens range.

Not really, I see him a good bit in the 50-75 range (on a few rankings), and as low as 83, I also just don't think he's that good, he's a DFD (who was out for more goals against than most of his teammates) who can't really handle the puck all that well, and he gets his points by just tossing the puck out of the zone as soon as he gets it, and hopes his forwards win a race, which they will do a lot less in the NHL, essentially giving his opponents a free rush chance (which, statistically, are significantly more dangerous than chances where a team already had pressure), and he's also not particularly good at getting pucks and winning battles in the corners

Do you watch him or are you just going based on something you read? He’s very good defensively, good first pass, very strong and can hit. Almost a guarantee he’s a first round pick and if someone doesn’t like him it’s because he’s not flashy like drysdale but guys like Schneider are so damn valuable

Watched a bit, read a bit, listened to a few podcasts that talked about him, I almost never saw a great first pass tho

From what I’ve watched it’s not the most consistent but it’s definitely there like 95 percent of the time

We don’t, but I really like him, and I don’t see anyone that is near as good as him. His position isn’t ideal, but he’s the BPA.

At some point you just take Schneider. I say after the three. You like guhle but Schneider is pretty close if not better and a rhd

I'm not a huge fan of Schneider. He's currently one of the best dman of his class, but I think the upside isn't great. He already is already mature physically, and his style of play makes that there isn't much left to improve when his body is mature. He will remain close to what he is right now. I could see Pittsburgh taking him for that reason, they need NHL ready dman to win now.

My personal list of draft prospect for MTL (1st round) would be :
    1. Dylan Holloway
    2. Seth JArvis
    3. Lukas Reichel (is a reach at 16, but could make a trade for him) I Really want this guy
    4. Yaroslav Askarov

Schneider is the type of guy that everyone needs. A solid, hard hitting, shut down d. As for reichel I like him but not before foerster and Perrault. I keep debating whether to pick Holloway or Jarvis. Holloway brings size, strength, physicality and leadership but Jarvis brings speed, agility and very good playmaking. I keep wanting to put Holloway ahead as he’s what we need and frankly everyone needs especially for playoffs, but then I keep seeing marner and barzal when watching Jarvis and thinking he could be a top end forward putting up 80+ points like those two(barzal before trotz got there)

I agree that Schneider is a great player, but I think that if we're ready to wait a couple years, we could draft players that will be as good with our 2nd rounders.
As for Holloway and Jarvis, I would really be happy if either of them fell to us (which is unlikely). If I had to choose tough, I feel like Holloway would fill a better role.
