I love Wilson, but that trade is downright awful for Toronto. Nylander can easily be a 40 goal, 80 point player every year and is no where near his prime. Another bad trade with Edmonton, the Leafs can fetch a better dman than Larsson. I don't think Philly has any interest in trading Laughton. And with the Toronto defence, Murray isn't that much of an upgrade over Andersen anyways, although he is a couple of years younger.

Not really. It will be a lot more expensive or you get someone who is worse.

Both guys are essentially rentals and Larsson is a pretty mediocre defenseman. Good trade for Edmonton.

with the amount of goalies in free agency and the amount of teams not looking, it will be a great year to low ball in UFA market.
Even Koskinen was better than Andersson this year.

One down year for him out of a very good career so far. If you low ball in the UFA market, you aren't getting Lehner or Markstrom.

Easily 80 point guy whose never had more than 61 points in a season lmfao. 31 goals is also his career high. If it’s so easy why hasn’t he accomplished either things you credited him doing?

I am going after Greiss if I am Oilers and that is talked about in Edmonton as well. We cant afford a 5 or 6 million dollar goalie

I would not be conformable counting on Greiss (and having to give him a multi-year contract) with the Oiler's cap situation. One season of Andersen is pretty reasonable, particularly if you are sending Larsson and his 4.1 million cap hit back the other way.

Who are we going to replace Larsson with, another contract, another trade. That will cost. Greiss and Koskinen should be very good and we can also sign a right shot center with the left over money which is a big need. All the talk in Edmonton is Greiss

The obvious answer is Evan Bouchard. Larsson is going to be gone in a year anyway. Bouchard is the guy moving forward. Larsson isn't even particularly good.

Getting Greiss and Koskinen is committing too much long term to the position. Greiss is going to cost at least 4 million and it's going to be for multiple years. That's ~9 million long term to two goalies, neither of whom are clear number 1 goalies to commit to.

If I am coach, no way Bouchard starts the year on the roster, at least another half year in the minors. Greiss is 3 million 3 years. That is it.

Why would Greiss take a pay cut from what he's getting right now? Doesn't make sense.

If Bouchard is good in camp, he earns a spot. If not, you have Bear, Russel, and Benning on the right side.

Edmonton has younger talent that will take Larsson spot and cheaply.

you can just stop calling guys who have never reached 40 goals, 40 goal players.
Matter of fact there should be rules on this.
Not only should the player have to hit 40 goals at least 1 time, you should at least be able to say the player was on pace over half a season to repeat that task. 1x wonders really don't do it.

Greiss would take a pay cut due to
The amount of goalies in UFA
The amount of teams needing goalies, not many
He is getting older and playing way less games
His stats are dropping, which you brought up already
All of the above

Bouchard still needs to work on D play
Oilers would be crazy to trade Klefbomb, Nurse, Bear, Jones right now until Bouchard and it looks like Broberg (who is actually very close to ready) are 100% ready and that is just not the Holland way anyways

CAN easily put up 80 points a season, as in has the ability to, not WILL put it up, which is a guarantee, and was on pace for 40 goals this season. Again a bad trade for Toronto.

Again easily implies simply achievable in this case he hasn’t achieved over 61points lol. So it must not be easy since he hasn’t done it yet. I bet he never does it lol. He was on pace for 37 goals not 40.... that is a career year for him. Lmfao
