Rumors out of Phoenix is that OEL might be out the door. Not many teams have the cap space and need to send cap back that Arizona can’t take in as they have the highest salary in the league. They also save $9M. Grabner is a cap dump. In reality OEL doesn’t leave Arizona but if they need to trade him there are not many options. He is worth more as a player but the problem is the cap and the amount of teams that can afford him.

I agree. Some fans think He isn’t a leader and May be better without the C. The beat writer is reporting that he thinks both sides OEL and management are at odds and neither side is happy with each other.

It’s fair but the Sabres wouldn’t trade McCabe. They are thin on LD, he wears an A, and Krueger loves him.

i agree. Some will like it some won’t but it has been one of the rare mutually agreed trades on Hfboards

While the Sabres need grit desperately, they have no shortage of LWs. “FANS” love their native sons and Wood was born in Buffalo when his dad played their. Value and cap wise, makes sense.

I think NJ should be very careful about surrendering assets for a nominal #1 defenseman who might not actually be that anymore with a large cap number his team may want to shed.

i agree I still think he’s a #1. Even in a few years if he becomes a number 2 it really isn’t that bad. That’s why I didn’t give up many Valuable assets aside from maybe the 1st but we also have two others.
