I neither like or dislike this deal. They should target right shot defenders and wingers if they are moving Johnny.

That's bad for CGY. Murray sucks and ZAR's a 4th liner. That first is the only decent piece.

Moving and elite winger for that lot is just terrible asset management.

If this is the only Gaudreau trade that makes sense then he’s 100% not going anywhere. If the return is anything less than 4 relatively young, promising assets, at least 2 of which are NHL ready, then it should be a no. If Hall for half a season gets a 1st+3rd+3 prospects, a guy better than Hall for 2 seasons at an extremely affordable price should easily command more. For Calgary to consider it would have to include Poulin+Marino+15oa+another equivalent asset. Stop pretending he isn’t elite because he supposedly had a bad playoffs, which I don’t really think he did, and I doubt anyone actually watching did either

No it doesn’t because Gaudreau to pitt doesn’t make sense regardless of the price. They already have 3, possibly 4 left wings for the top 6. They don’t need to pay for another one and Calgary would be dumb to accept a trade that they aren’t getting top dollar for him.
