Not bad. I doubt PL will come in under 9.5-10 even at 8 years, shown he's worth it. Nylander trade looked fine until I saw the 2nd going back. would likely need be a later pick to get that done.

I could see him signing 8x10 like Eichel.

if he asks for that he's getting a bridge deal because as good as he is, he has not earned $10 million yet

what if CBL added their 2020 first and TOR added a 2nd? instead of one of the 4ths

I mean he was a few years and younger and was at least close to a point per game. Hadn't earned it yet, but PLD isn't on that level YET. In these playoffs he looks like he does, but I'd bridge him to see that its sustainable first imo.

Edit: you just tagged me on a different one saying the same thing

That's what I had before, but it was too lopsided in TOR's favour.

If they can get him at like an Aho contract I'd go 7/8 years...if he wants like 9.5+ bridge him with a point contract and sign him at 9.5+ when the caps up

Yea, I like this though! Would they lose one of their goalies in the expansion draft?

This doesn't cut it for the Leafs. Savard isn't a top pairing guy and only has 1 year left on his deal. Nutivaara is just another lefty and Leafs have tons of those. Yes he plays the right side frequently but if they were going to do that then they'd just use Dermott in that spot. Bjorkstrand is just another Kapanen and they don't need him. The pieces just aren't there for what the team needs. If Nylander gets moved it'll be for a younger, better d-man with more term. Easy decline for Toronto.

you've heavily underestimated the players coming back.

Bjorkstrand was on pace for 60 points in an 82 game season this year.

Savard is an excellent 2nd pair D, who could move up to first pair as needed - he would have been our best RHD this year no doubt.

Nuttivara and Dermott are two young guys with top 4 upside who could play in top 4 as needed. Gives us a very deep defence.

Columbus will not be trading Bjorkstrand. Trading our best forward for Nylander isn’t improving the offense. It’s a lateral step. If anything it would be Anderson and a 1st going back in the trade instead and Nylander would be used as the 2nd line center. The hole you clearly failed to fill.

"On pace" means nothing. They either do something or don't. Bjorkstrand isn't much different than Kapanen and Kapanen costs nothing to get.. no interest.

& about both defencemen, like I said it was the term. Savard has 1 year left and Nutivaara has 2. Nylander has more than both combined and is still younger. That's not intriguing at all. & Toronto's need isn't a 2nd pairing d-man or a solid depth piece. They need a top pairing guy. Nylander can fetch a lot better return than this.

I meant for Colombus. Campbell definitely won't get taken I think, if so maybe get like a goalie trade for some value. Would be interesting.

I would absolutely hate that Toronto deal for us. Bjorkstand is a 30 goal scorer and we actually know he can play the hard checking game Torts requires. I'd have doubts about Nylander doing the same. On top of that, we're adding in 2 D men (on top of already trading 1 in another deal) with over 2 mil in retention and everything besides Nylander is scraps. I'm probably overestimating my team's players a bit here, but I'm not even sure if I'd do Bjorkstand for Nylander 1 for 1. With the other pieces added in, it's a hard no.
