Description
I’ve created so many different mock Sharks teams for next year in my drafts. For whatever reason, this one feels the most realistic. I’m basing a lot of this off of insider speculation, team need, and Doug Wilson toeing the line between icing a more competitive team next season while keeping the higher picks to help restock the cupboard.

In an attempt to restore some chemistry to the locker room, bringing back some well liked personalities like Demelo and Reimer should create a deeper, more defensively balanced roster.

-Thornton & Marleau come back for one more go while solidifying their place in the record books.

-Noesen was a breath of fresh air and had great chemistry with Kellman & Gregor. It makes complete sense to give him a new deal.

-As much as I want Jones, Vlasic, and Burns off the books and off the team, I believe that will be easier next offseason with the expansion draft, more clarity with the financial climate, one less year on their deals, and a chance to bounce back while improving their values.

Regarding the trades, the values don’t seem that far off based off of what others are saying/expecting.

-Toronto want to clear more cap space to improve their D and goaltending. I’ve seen this same deal from a few Leafs fans. Johnsson would be a welcome addition to the Sharks meddling offense.

-Labanc fits in with the Devils young core. He’s a local kid, that will help their PP. Palmieri brings a much needed right shot and speed to the team. If he comes with a reasonable extension, I’d up the pick selection and or add a mid prospect. Moving Labanc also allows Gambrell one last shot to make an impact before needing a new deal.

-With Carolina, I’ve seen conflicting reports on what they’ll do in net. This deal allows them to shed some salary and open up a spot for an impact FA goalie. I’m fine replacing Reimer with a FA 1b signing in the $3-3.5m range on a 1-2 year deal.

-Moving on from Sorensen is a must imo. A 5th should do the trick.

Looking forward to some helpful feedback. Cheers!

Leafs probably decline, Id rather add a 3rd + than trade up 50 spots at the cost of AJ

Initially I thought AJ for COL’s 2nd straight up. I saw a few other Armchair Leafs teams that had a pick coming back to the Sharks so I followed suit. Personally, I’m fine with the pick for the player.

Carolina will need a LOT more than that for a .914 regular season goalie and a .934 playoff goalie making less than 4 mil

NJD deal - Maybe add condition that if SJS resigns Palmieiri, the SJS 3rd rounder becomes 1st rounder. Instead of two 3rds, one 3rd that could become 1st.

Why would Canes take a pile of garbage for their best goalie statistically?

NJ wants no part of that trade
