What would it take? Are they asking for such a high price so he doesn’t get traded to spite Puljujarvi?

Ask high because no real intentions to move holland was clear when he took over the job getting jp back in Edmonton was the goal and by the sounds of it signing should be coming in near future.

Andersson is a headcase and Puljujarvi has no hockey IQ. Pass.

No thanks. I don’t want to go anywhere near that Zuccarello contract.

You don't know anything about JP because Edmonton doesn't know. Oilers are not trading him because they want to see what kind of player they have and he will play for Oilers next year.

It really sounds like Holland is keeping JP until he can't. It was suggested that JP will sign with the agreement that if he isn't playing in the NHL he will then be traded. I wouldn't offer anything much up for LA and I doubt Rangers want to sell low.

False. Puljujarvi has plenty of hockey IQ. I recommend not talking about players you have no idea about

Why would Edmonton take a player back that has a worse contract back then Neal’s and give you Puljujarvi for the pleasure

That’s a hard pass

True, but Zucc's contract is better than Neals though. One more year but a much better player even strength

Despite the speed of the game having easily surpassed James Neal, the guy still managed 19 goals last season... In fact the NHL somehow determined he actually scored 21. Zuccarello will never provide that kind of offensive punch, and while his defensive game may be comparatively better than Neal's it is nothing to write home about. Hartman is suspect on the defensive side of the puck as well, something that can't be said about Puljujarvi, even if he didn't achieve the offensive expectations under his ELC. This is simply a very bad trade for Edmonton.

Player for player I’d honestly rather Neal. Solid bet for 20 goals. Difference in contract really doesn’t make up that difference in play.

In terms of even strength offense, Zucc crushes Neal. 30 even strength points to 14. And while Neal is an anchor for someone like McDavid. Zucc would be a decent complimentary winger.
And Hartman is decent defensively, His xGA/60 is better than 89% of all NHL players. Great penalty killer too

Neal gets his goals from playing on the best PP in the league. Scored only 14 even strength points.
Zucc is actually decent even strength, and scored 30 even strength points. Much better defensively as well

When the season ends I don’t care if all 20 are from pp. goal is a goal. He deserves a lot of credit for oilers top ranked pp. mcdavid and Leon have been running it for awhile wasn’t till Neal showed up seen this level of production.

The problem with the Zucc contracts is it has a no move clause and has signing bonuses meaning it can’t be bought out and needs to be protected in the Seattle expansion draft sorry your stuck with that contract

Neal’s contract doesn’t have any clauses attached to it and he will be packaged with a pick or prospect so Seattle will claim him Edmonton is only stuck with Neal for this coming yr

To anyone making trades you have to factor in the expansion draft, players with movement clauses will be harder to trade and will cost more pick and prospect wise

I really just wanted to discuss whether or not the Wild should be interested in these two. The players involved in the trades were just first offers, but offers that do make some sense...

I think Lias would be a fine target. He's been having a pretty good time in Sweden after leaving Hartford last year. The Rangers organization seems to think pretty much the bridge has been repaired but they're going to let him cook in Sweden because he was having some homesickness issues and they're not going to bring him over unless they feel fairly confident he's going to play more of a role for the big club. They're not going to bring him back over to send him to Hartford or give him 6 minutes per night again.

With Minnesota, he could potentially come in and immediately get top 6 minutes. He's a fairly strong player physically, with a really nice nose for scoring areas, finding spots in front of the goal really effectively. He's defensively capable. He's not a great skater or super offensively skilled but he has the kind of IQ to somewhat make up for it.

No, what he has are all the physical tools in the world to become a dominant player, and he can't put it together. For three years in the NHL he looked like a deer in headlights that couldn't keep up with the play around him. I've watched plenty of Jesse Puljujarvi, calm down bud.
