Description
Operating under the presumption that Rask retires, which I wouldn't be surprised with. Chara has one more left in him at a reduced role in the regular season. Krug is gone even with the money from Rask, so I think a free agent Left D is in the cards, maybe not necessarily Gustafsson but he has a lot of potential upside. I could also see them going after Radko Gudas if WAS doesnt resign them, with Sweeney constantly trying to find new kinds of snarl to not be helpful (both Ritchie bros). Anyway, sucks such a promising season led to the end result this year but hey, that's COVID.

If we have Matt Murray as our #1 next year we should just rebuild.

Why would Rask retire? I seen that a few times now on here and really can’t wrap my head around? Is it because fan base is pissy he left the team? If so can’t help but think that’s a massive sign of disrespect to the player. Expecting hockey to be their second priority in life is about the most we can possibly ask for family comes first 101 out of 100 times....

So our solution to our #2RW is to acquire a guy who was on pace for 13 points last year whose had multiple upper body injuries the last few years and missed time with a knee injury?

Then our solution to losing your Vezina caliber goaltender is to acquire a guy who over the last 2 years has a 2.77 GAA / .911 SV%....mean while our backup over that same time has a 2.36 GAA / .921 SV%

This team is maybe a playoff team, but that's assuming Jaro and Murray are hot all year long. If they are average than this team doesn't make the playoffs

The only way I see him "retiring" is if next season teams are required to play in a bubble and he needs to be away from his family for months again. If that's the case he may call it career, but if they have a normal format (maybe minus fans) he'll be back

I could see him not playing next year if the Covid situation doesn't improve and family isn't allowed to be with him.

The PIT trade seems fair bc Im big on Keyser but IMO, Jimmy is going after a player for player type trade

Something not everyone seem to understand, unfortunately.

For me its just what he said when he left. He doesn't seem interested in playing hockey anymore. Maybe it was because of the bubble situation, or maybe its just truly how he feels. His drive to play could've changed over that 3-4 month pause. Maybe being with his family during a time he's usually playing changed his mentality. A lot of maybes and speculation but there isn't much info out there outside of he left for a family emergency. But a lot of fans are pissy about his decision too.

4th line needs to be rebuilt. Lindholm was horrible on the PK Wagner was none existent. Kuraly only one that stays. Kuraly Frederic kuhlman should be the fourth line next year

I’m in full support of player privacy and allowing them to have as normal of a life away from the rink. They need that to recharge and keep the passion. I wouldn’t doubt his desire to play isn’t where it was 5 years ago but having to explain himself in my opinion is the biggest cause for it. Nobody would enjoy their job as much if constantly questioned about every decision and once questioned about family person life that’s going to suck the desire to play out sooooo fast. Best and most respectful way to look at Rask right now in my opinion is showing full support and make sure he knows the team players fans all are behind him. Not the time to start planing or pushing him out.

Bruins need an impact wing for Krejci. Anderson is not that.
