i keep seeing everyone resigning krug to 7m+ that would be the biggest mistake this team could do

All fairly reasonable, but I'm not sure how keen SJS will be on giving up their 2020 2nd for Kase -- more likely the Avs 2020 2nd. And I don't know how BOS is going to get out from under that Moore contract - the term just kills it. Do you think the Coyle contract ruined any chance of DeBrusk signing a bride deal?

Sure it makes more sense to be the Avs pick anyway thats my b

The Moore deal isnt one they have to "get out of", hes a solid 3rd pair guy that is stuck behind 6 other NHL ready dmen so he just got unlucky. Its a trade. no problem there

I dont think the debrusk signing would do anything to Coyle, he plays LW and coyle is a RW/C so nbd

He's a second pair guy at 5v5 who happens to be the best PP QB in the league, i just happen to not value that particularly high

only giving up an early second is an absolute steal for Kase, I don't understand the hate he gets on here, ANA fans loved him, and BOS fans everywhere else seem to love him too, he's far better than his point totals suggest

Sharks aren’t paying more than you paid for Kase when he’s been awful. I do think we could trade for him though and hope for a bounce back

I thinks it’s actually wise to lock up debrusk long term over a bridge if it’s possible.

Hes a first pair 5on5 guy, chara just played better with Mcavoy lol
and having a pp QB is crucial (especially one that passes as well as him)

Agreed, he is already a solid (yet spotty) goal scorer, but the second he gets consitant he can become worth like twice as much

He’s a guy I’d be willing to pay a premium price to acquire and bring home to Edmonton. Pretty sure the second Boston took him was the cause of charelli making a horrendous draft day trade for Reinhart.

Interesting! He would fit in well in Edmonton. I keep seeing Debrusk Nurse trades, but I cant get behind that because the bruins DONT need defense and DO need top 6 wingers lol so idk why people keep trying that

I mean Coyle getting overpaid basically made it so DeBrusk would get paid about the similar $$ and less likely to get a bridge deal (that was the original question) -- nothing about their positions.

And I think it will be very hard to find any team to take on nearly $3m for a number 6 defenseman with two flat cap seasons.

If Rask goes i am not sold on tying ourselves long term to Lehner with his history despite his play. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Maybe Greiss or Dobby on a shorter, cheaper deal til the kids are ready.

If they re-sign Krug they should package Grizz and Bjork to upgrade at top 9 FW. Preferably a LW to play with Coyle. Grizz would be lost to Seattle at years end anyway with Krug signing and we can’t have half of our D patrolled by midgets. Sign Dillon or Boro, both if possible, to beef up the back end.

noooooo krug isnt a 1st pair dman. krug isnt even a second pairing dman, hes a 3rd pair dman pp specialist. doesnt play the pk, isnt physical, does nothing in his own end. He was a -6 for the playoffs this year... had 6 points so that means he was on the ice for 12 goals. not what you want at 5v5. Chara was with mcavoy because mcavoy could carry the pairing. I dont think having a pp qb is crucial. i think having 5v5 scoring is crucial and krug didnt really aid in that during the postseason.

I’m a supporter of that nurse for debrusk idea but with understanding it depends heavy on what’s next for chara and Krug.

This is true, but I guess im curious who you think will be taken if we give up Krug

Also Bjork looked awesome in these playoffs so im happy with him as a cheap top 9 forward who is finally finding his stride

Yeah IDK about Lehner I just like his play

To give Stud space to play.
If Stud can fit elsewhere then hell yeah lets keep Kase. But i dont see him beating Bjork/Coyle out for top 9 minutes

Probably Lauzon, unless he plays so well they keep him over Grizz, younger more upside. They may make a trade to hold onto both.

Ehh, he was pretty bad at times, good at others. I just have not seen any consistency and even at his best there has not been very productive. He needs to step up next year or be replaced.

Kase still has a lot of potential to be really good. Im not sure Id look too far into his preformence these playoffs after all the time off. No point on selling low on him, give him some time to build chemistry

Rather keep him than sign Toffoli, but that's me. Younger, at a better price and could end up having a similar production.
