Re-Tool - Back in the finals

Created by: Propeller09
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 2, 2020
Published: Sep. 2, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I had done another ACGM with 1st rd pick and that seemed to be too much in most Avs fans opinion. How does this look?

Grubauer part of three way deal - any team.

I kind of feel like This helps all teams involved.
Colorado gets better, Edmonton gets better. The other trades are Dumps, so whatever team needs those guys. They are all somewhat useful.

I like Kuraly, but he will get a Riley Nash type deal and I don't want to pay him. I only sent him there because he is from Ohio.

COL isnt giving up a 28yo good goalie for a 34yo Rask, on one year deal at twice the cost

I’d do 14th overall for debrusk
Or
Nurse for debrusk
I wouldn’t be wanting Carlo back just because of a log jam already working towards clearing up.

Bruins arent trading away a top 6 forward for future assets man. Debrusk trade is reject

Kuraly isnt a dump, we like him and r gonna keep him

Tuuks is either retiring or ending his contract in Boston (where his kids are), no trade

Not a great ACGM

He is twice as good.

Ill take a goalie who is 15% worse but half the cap any day.
you also arent considering at age 34 (mid season) a decline is bound to happen.
BOS has been a good team 8+ years, makes being a goalie behind that team that much easier

Edmonton you do the deal but for their first
Edmonton counters with Klefbom a 3rd and Benson
Klefbom cap hit is low with 4 yrs remain you want the low cap hit your not getting a first in the deal

Not sure I agree with that.

He has just as much chance as anyone not name Carey Price. I do get what you are saying. Rask gives you a perceived better chance. I mean look at the goalies left. It is luck with goalies.

I actually think it's swayman's job to win.

FYI - the last four Cup winning goalies were benched this year.
Binnington, Holtby, Murray, Fleury.

Five if you want to count Crawford until they traded Lehner.

Bruins arent trading away a top 6 forward for future assets man. Debrusk trade is reject - Debrusk has never played more than 70 games. He has scored 20 goals once. It's not about trading him for future assets. It's about not investing in someone when you can replace them with Hall. In a vacuum, I do not trade him for the pick. If i go get someone better to replace him and get the pick. I do that. Hoffman or Dadynov also options if they wanted to do this.

Kuraly isnt a dump, we like him and r gonna keep him - Yeah, "We're" not. He will be paid 2m+ next contract and he isn't worth it. I like Kuraly, I said that. He played his way into a contract I don't want to pay. Frederic should be able to do the same thing with a bit more toughness at half the price.

Tuuks is either retiring or ending his contract in Boston (where his kids are), no trade - "Tuuks" has a 15 team no trade. He can't really control. Half the teams is a lot. He very well may be traded and not like where he is going an retire. I don't rule that out. He will be traded or retire. I really hope it's not, but short of one of his kids or wife being really really sick, I don't see him back in the locker room. I bet Bruins trade him and he retires nullifying the trade. Either way, money off the books. 7m is a lot of money to leave on the table for one year.

so avs are trading for a guy who is rumoured to being retiring or if he doesnt is going to be ran out of town bc the media is toxic throwing his name under the bus bc he left to take care of his sick child.

Just awful

Decline in goalies isn't really a concern at that age. Rask has miles, but not a ton. Didn't really become starter until 27-28
A) There salary retained in the deal.
B) I would also take the worse goalie at a lesser cap hit, hence the trade. Most teams and GM's don't feel that way.
C) Yes, the Bruins have been good, but their D has had some holes over the years, but their goal tending has remained strong. Rask is a top 10 goalie in the league.

Debrusk point is mute
Like Acciari they will just let him run out the contract then. Who knows maybe he will just sign in boston again for like 1.5- 2 mil
Tuuks has a family (and clearly needs to be with his family) - If he is "traded" he will retire and the trade will be void. He isnt picking up his family and moving them rn

I'd be disappointed to see either Klefbom or Nurse traded, but if one has to go I'd rather it be Nurse in an exchange for DeBrusk with a conditional draft pick based on performance. Boston can keep Carlo, and Edmonton should not be giving up draft picks or prospects. The condition should be a 4th that may become a 3rd if Jake fails to achieve some agreed upon performance measures. Bruins fans are likely to disagree, and that's fine.

I understand that. I traded him for a 3rd pick. "Dump" in the sense that Frederic is similar but cheaper and younger and you need to move some $ to make signings.

Kuraly is great, but he is a 4th line guy. If I can replace him and fill some other glaring holes with Frederic (size, toughness, heavier game that can skate). I am ok with that. Lauko plays heavy too and can fly. They need to get heavier to play against. They keep trying to get tougher and it's not that. It's not about adding a Ritchie brother or some other troglodyte.

If Debrusk gets hit, his disappears. Same with Bjork, Kase, Pastrnak and pretty much everyone but Marchand, Bergeron and Coyle and Krejci when he feels like it. 37 & 63 are also a lot less effective when 88 is neutralized.

You can have a couple of those guys, but not more than half of the top 9. Especially when you have Two D who are 5'9" or smaller.

I'm higher than most on Lauko and he was my dark horse to make the team last year, but I don't think he's NHL ready next year. He missed the 2nd half the season from his injury in the WJC and the best thing for his development would be to get top 6 minutes in the AHL. Frederic could easily slide over to LW or even Kuraly to LW and Frederic to center the 4th line.
