Description

Designed to get rid of the players that have criticized the team or how they are used which always seems to be the guys who get traded in MTL, and get decent returns such as 1st rounders; Trade for Laine, they need Defense in Petry and Offense in Domi while getting draft choices for this and next year. Next sign Hoffman, Pitlick, Brassard, Marroon to help on offense and experience on the 4th line, then Gustafsson and Shattenkirk to beef up our defense while signing Mete and getting Romanov in the line up. This brings in the fire power we need on the sides while giving the message that our young centers will take over for the future. We have 29M$ next year to re-sign Laine, KK Poehling and Gallagher plus the others that may ask for raises, while letting go Weal and Armia unless they get exceptional seasons for 20-21. The blue line will remain intact, and Primeau may be ready to move up in 21-22.

Laine is not the top 6 winger we should be pursuing from the Jets. Either Ehlers or Conner from the jets, or Hoffman, Hall or Dadanov in FA are the top 6 guys we should be looking at. If we want a 1 dimensional scoring winger we could just sign Caufield to his ELC and not have him work on his 2 way game. Plus Laine will cost too much now and on his next contract.

The rest has close to zero value including Hudson. No one is trading the 8th overall for Danault.
