Try giving up your 2020 1st instead of Poehling

Not close to getting Detroit to trade Larkin. He's their 1C, about to be named captain, local kid and fan favorite. It would take a fairly substantial overpay for Wings to move him, this offer isn't even fair value

Any deal for Larkin starts with your 2020 1st round pick #16 overall and then some, And then add accordingly. Weren't trading Mantha to you. So we sure aren't trading hometown kid and our future Captain to you either.

I know that's why I was surprised... Value wise Yes it is fair: Domi makes +/- 10pts less than Larky... YES Larky is more valueable.. but just Caufield Value should close the gap... + Poehling C-Depth
Think of Pacioretty Trade: Tatar (Domi), Suzuki (Caufield) + 2nd (Poehling)

Neither is going to be moved, Mantha likely going to sign a long term deal in next couple months

The value really doesn’t matter since there is no chance Detroit trades away Larkin

Larkin Mantha, Bertuzzi, Zadina,Hronek and Sieder are the building blocks.

Problem in trading Larkin is he is face of the team and the only true center with any Upside and NHL ready. He is clearly better than Domi, Poehling has shown nothing this past year and Caufield is a great piece but no center means he is not as good.

The problem with any trade between Wings and Habs is they are division rivals. Those trades need to be over payments. Second all the Mantha trades help Habs and are linear trades for Wings. They lose a winger and get a center, where Habs have too many centers and need wingers. It is a win for Habs as they get a winger with upside and deal an extra center. Wings get a center and lose a winger, which they also need. It just makes no sense to close one hole and open another and help a division rival to boot.
