I have been on the Crouse and Dvorak train for a while now. Crouse is top 10 hits and Dvorak is top 50. I think AJ, 1st, 2nd in 2021 so they get their picks back is a good start. Then add in a couple good prospects.

Also add the retention on Crouse if that is the case. Zona won't retain on Dvorak for 5 years.

Thats too much to give up for someone you intend on using as a 3C.

Leafs save just 500,000 in cap for really not much of an improvement if at all on the centre position. And to give up a first and two seconds for that....no thanks.

I can't say I've ever been a huge fan of Crouse.. I think players like him can be found year after year for cheap on short term deals. I think a cheap and effective 3C will be huge for Toronto considering their cap situation and the C position being super important. I would overpay in order to have Dvo for 5 years at 3M. Remember Arizona is a team that's always trying to hit the cap. Most team wouldn't retain for that long but I think Arizona would if the price is right.

It's secured stability for years to come. Most people wouldn't have done that Kadri trade but that's all we were going to use him as. We don't really have anyone who's going to come up and fill that void. The C position isn't easy to find year after year

The top C positions arnt something that is easy to find, a 3C isnt all that difficult. Having stability for years is what we have right now in Kerfoot. Simply put, at no point is a 3C worth spending 1st round picks + prospects on.

Don't use him at 3 C then, he'll fit real well in the top line LW

Not entirely sure what Dvorak's value is to Arizona. I know it's high, so I'd suggest this offer is a bit on the low side. But there's a 0% chance there will be retention on Dvorak. And he's easily 2C material so I don't really get why Toronto would want him. Just keep Kerfoot for that 3C role and keep your assets.

Just what the Leafs need to be doing with their most tradeable asset in the 1st round pick ... trading for more wingers?

Or they aquire Dvorak for LW beside Matthews and Marner and then trade the very affordable Hyman for help on D or makes moving Nylander that much easier to stomach, there are lots of reasons to aquire Dvorak

It’s not the worst Dvo offer I’ve seen and the value is close but AZ loves him so it would take an overpay to pry him out. And like someone else pointed out it doesn’t make sense for Toronto to overpay for him just to use him as the 3C
