Stop trading Chiasson to MTL. Habs don't need him.

The Habs have 8 pick in the rounds 3-7. MB will surely use one of them to acquire depth players. Chiasson is a lot more effective than Weal

They already have Armia, Lehkonen, and Byron on bottom 6. If habs really want him, they'll add Weal in this deal, going to edm.

I can understand and respect your mindset here. Wouldn’t do much of it personally and would add jp but nothing stands out as horrific so in my opinion that’s a big win around here.

Why does CAR trade a signed, underperforming top 9 winger for an unsigned, underperforming top 9 winger?

Change Dzingel to Niederreiter and your into something

Because Athanasiou's cap hit will probably be around Dzingel's. It's a swap of two struggling players

I believe the idea is that Athanasiou probably signs for about the same amount as Dzingel and the change of scenery helps both players

I feel like Pittsburgh might decline this for a couple reasons, including that they already have 8 defensmen signed for next year, but one of the biggest is Russell's NTC/NMC. Pittsburgh already might need to do 4-4-1 to protect Letang, Dumoulin, Pettersson, and Marino. If they have to protect Russell, that makes it impossible to adequately cover the others they need.

Disclaimer though, I could be wrong about the expansion rules.

I'm pretty sure that the deal expiring next year don't have to protected in the expansion draft

I don't personnaly don't like you first line... DZingy was terrible defensively & SmurfEnnis is not the solution next to McJesus.
I like Bjug addition... but I think he as more value than Russel... might need to chip in a 4 or 5th round pick

OK to wake up Dzingy... but Ennis... hummm trade Larssoon in To for Johnsson or Kerfoot... + Dermott or Holl at least
