Sandin and Robertson are off the table. Other than that, this trade is terrible for NSH if you get rid of Sandin.

Not a big fan of this from the Leafs side but not from a value stand point.

The Leafs and Thrashers both move around 8 mil in cap either way but the Leafs move 2 more roster players while just kicking the RD issue down the road a bit. The Leafs will need to get a 2nd pairing RD rather than a 1st but will have moved the cap pieces they'd use to make space for the hole on the right side. Aside from that, it basically mortgages the future of the left side in what is reasonably expected to be the replacement for Rielly when the Leafs cant pay him.

This deal actually puts the Leafs in a worse situation to fix their defensive needs than they started in.

I appreciate the zuccarello and turris have the same cap hit- but zuccarello is a much better wing than turris is a center at this point. Wild are way better off keeping zuccarello than making this trade. One of the two can still score 50+ points and it’s not turris.
