Sorry but leafs need cap space. Not taking cap dumps. I would look at LA Ottawa or Detroit. Be prepared to pay much more.

What you did here is give Neal away which understood his contract destroys value whatever but subtracted 20-25 goals from the team to hopefully replace with tuch at the cost of nurse did you really come out ahead with that? I get why people want to move Neal but if you only focus on his contract your going to get lead towards making a costly mistake in the bigger picture. Give him one more year see what he can do with a healthy season burn another year of term then consider the options. Around here people will only look at his contract and foolishly think deserve high end picks to be included. (Not a chance will get)

You would need to retain 2.75M for OTT to accept that offer

The reasoning behind Neal is that while I would want to give him one more year, this past season he scored 19 goals very quickly (good) and then dropped off a cliff in the second half while also getting PP1 time (not good). In terms of picks, is a 4th really that high? It's quite literally middle of the pack, which is a coinflip NHL player at best. Not trying to argue, just giving my reasoning

Which EDM could do (up to a certain point), cap wise it's smarter to buy him out at that point but might as well get something for him

You mean he dropped off because he was playing with a bad foot injury? in that case, yes you are right.

Vegas has enough LD, they're not moving Tuch unless it's an overpay and Nurse isn't that.

Vegas is also sending what will likely be an early 2nd round pick, are D considered so much more valuable that a team should lose 4 years of cost certainty and add a 2nd round pick?!.. I just don't see it myself, that'd be a dumb move by Vegas imo.

I’m not against trading nurse but it would be to add to teams goal total but work around Neal for another year. The 20-25 goals even if all on pp isn’t production that should be completely dismissed when “dumping” his contract. Needs to be replaced and in this case your adding tuch to the offence will he not only replace that but justify the loss of nurse? I think right now is a more complicated time to move Neal than gets considered. “Dumping” Neal and using cap in free agency is different story because it didn’t cost nurse to realistically just replace subtracted offence. I hope this made sense.

Yeah I get that, my idea came mostly from the fact that someone from the farm could hopefully step up to take his place, and Vegas' playstyle fits his pretty well. Problem is, VGK already has a bunch of D men like Nurse- Top 4ish players with maybe top pair upside

Getting rid of Neal will not be easy, and if Holland can get it done in a smart way, he's a much better GM than I
