If NSH gets Hall, I'd rather keep Ellis.

If we took Turris could we get a deal with Fabbro instead? while maybe adding considerably, or is he untouchable?

Fabbro is near untouchable for NSH right now. In this scenario, where they've already traded Ellis and Carrier, he'd be absolutely, super-duper, 110% untouchable.

If the news from today about BUF having a low $70M internal cap is true, that Turris trade probably can't happen without them sending any salary back. I still think a there's a deal to be made involving NSH surplus of centers and BUF's surplus of defensemen though.

Yeah I kinda assumed. Ellis won't be at this level forever so makes sense.

It might surprise most people on these forums, but NSH fans aren't overly worried about Ellis' game falling off. His biggest strength has always been his positioning and vision. He's not the fastest skater but he sees the game so well, he gets to where he needs to be efficiently. That's not the kind of attribute that goes away with age, like speed and strength do. The injuries he has had haven't been the repetitive, worrisome ones like back or knee problems. He's more likely to age gracefully than most defensemen.

Duchene?

Personally, I wouldn't mind exploring that but it's incredibly unlikely Poile does that, this recently after signing Duchene.

With an internal cap, I'd be surprised if BUF would want Johansen at $8M. It seems like a smarter move for them to buy low on Turris, and hope for a rebound once he's away from Nashville and whatever evil ancient curse that befell him there. When it comes to BUF's dmen, I'd say Miller, Montour, McCabe, then Risto is the order I'd rank them in, when it comes to how much interest NSH would have. With Johansen, NSH would want picks back with anyone of those guys to balance the trade. With Turris, they'd have to send a pick or two over to BUF.

Thing is, we can't afford to take chances right now. Especially $6M ones. This was a 2018 or 2019 type deal.
