all these trades suck. Dehaan isn't worth a 2nd and the other 2 are terrible for the hawks

No they aren't. They are lopsided in favor of the hawks.

FIala>Strome and Fiala is under contract for this season.

Forcing Arizona to take on the majority of Seabrook's terrible contract defeats the entire purpose of them trading OEL's deal in the first place.

I noticed after Maata had a pretty good showing in the qualifying round that DeHaan replaced him getting shipped off to NJ in all of these threads.

A winger doesn't carry as much value as a center and Strome is a RFA so being under contract for a year doesn't hold as much weight in this case. That is more then fair value for Fiala but Hawks shouldn't do it anyway.

OEL is going to be another boat anchor contract like Seabs down the road. Doesn't matter as Arizona can't afford it and Seabs wouldn't waive for the desert anyway.

Game breaking wingers carry more value than meh centers. Hawks don't make that deal only because it's never on the table to begin with.

Lol. Stop being a homer. strome, particularly without a contract and without Kane or DeBrincat attached to him is not particularly valuable. He’s pretty meh. Fiala is on his way to being a legit star.

Game breaking wingers, seriously?

NHL Careers
Fiala = .55ppg
Strome = .64ppg

I think you should wake up realize Fiala isn't Patrick Kane after 1 good season. Hell, he's not even debrincat despite being 2 years older then him.

LMAO this is hysterical...."a legit star" after one good season. Debrincat, who's had a more productive career and 2 years younger, I wouldn't call a legit star. Strome, another younger player, has been more productive in his career so far then Fiala. Fiala is a good player with upside but he's no Kane, Crosby, Ovy, Matthews, McDavid, Panarin, Eichel, Pasternak, etc. Those are stars and they were young in their careers.

I'm not going to defend this trade, I'll take Strome and 2nd over Fiala while keeping Kane and Kubalik in our top 6 RW

Ah yes, because Fiala is not McDavid, he's on the tier of mediocre Strome type players. Cool. Just letting you know that this is a dumb homer take and moving on.

Great response "dumb" "cool"...try using some real facts kid and he's not even Debrincat let alone the caliber of a star player like any of the top 20 guys.

NHL Careers:
Fiala (287 games & 1 year older) = .55ppg
Strome (164 games & 1 year younger) = .64ppg

Yeah...you need to move on

Ah yes, let us now stupidly compare career ppg numbers for a player who was stuck in the AHL for his early years before getting to play with Kane in Chicago vs a guy who started earlier (in a lesser role) and has now far overtaken him as a player.

Again, this is stupid homer ****. Do better.

Another good one "stupidly" ...what are you 15 years old?

If you knew what you were talking about, Strome has barely played with Kane since last year.

Hang on to your "legit star" kid, we're good in Chicago up front with our "legit starts" in Kubalik, Kane, Toews, Dach, Strome, Saad, Debrincat smile

Screw it, I’ll be the one hawks fan who says it: I WILL GLADLY TAKE FIALA OVER STROME. I fly to Minnesota and pick him up myself and give strome a sharp kick in the ass out the door of the united center.

In no conceivable way, after these playoffs, will I ever take strome over Fiala. Period. End of story. I don’t care about the winger vs. center argument. You want strome to perform, give him a good set of wingers. Want Fiala to perform, let him just go! He proved that much this year. I get the 1-year sample size thing too, but given strome’s is 2-year (or really a 1 and a half...) sample size, it’s kinda splitting hairs. Point is, if anyone is really valuing strome over Fiala, all your doing is using his position and his inflated stats thanks to Kane and cat as leverage. Just my opinion, but good god I’d always take Fiala.

Wild don’t do the trade IMO. Fiala looked really good for them, and likely is viewed as a key piece of their top 6 moving forward. I know they need a center, but moving Fiala shouldn’t be an option for them. He’s their only forward under the age of 30 to get more than 31 points this year. 2nd on the team for goals. There’s no way of knowing if he’ll hit 30 goals and 70 points next year like he was on pace for this year, but that’s not the kind of skill the Wild should be moving.
