Kings trade does still feel incomplete to me. I don't know if that's enough for Willy, but I also don't know if LA would pay more. Asking for feedback on this trade, not definitely holding the opinion that it works

I'll explain my logic
- Iafallo is an FA after this year, could very well walk.
- Kempe is a 3C, so is Kerfoot. Kempe is only a bit better, but is cheaper on cap which is more important to Leafs
- Walker and Roy are two 2nd/3rd pair RDs, which might be tough to give up, I know, but you've gotta give to get a player of Nylander's calibre. Holl would come in to plug one of those holes, they'd have to find a way (trade or FA) to plug the 2RD spot but they've got space

WE CANT HAVE $45,000,000++ USED UP IN FOUR PLAYERS.

Hyman, Rielly, Robertson, Sandin, And Liljegren all need extensions in the next few years.

I will 100% agree with this headline....Get a first and a high end prospect. The offence is there even without Nylander and the pick and prospect will save cap space going forward and provide some young talent.

the trade is not important as the concept of moving Willy to round out the team if we get Petro.

I don't know an awful lot on the Kings players beyond stats and contracts, so I understand that I could be very off here

I'd rather not do it for picks tho... I admittedly don't know much about Kings players outside of stats and contracts, so this could be really off, but I'd like a blend of picks and guys that can plug holes in the lineup

And you can sign those guys as long as you draft well to bring in ELC contracts, which is looking good for us right now, and if you trade guys that need to be traded to make room and recoup assets to fuel the future

Our bottom six would SUCK. Goalies would be weak.

We all know we can’t fit him.

not if Abbrueze and Abramov and Hallander or even a guy like SDA can come in on ELC and make an impact in the bottom 6. Not if you draft well to circulate talent through that bottom 6. Not if you keep finding euro gems to plug in on ELCs. Bottom 6ers are interchangeable if done right, top pairing RDs are not

Well. Guess what. One day all those elc equal big contracts. Look at how much talent you would let walk through the door.

but if you continue to draft good players, those guys will eventually be replaceable. 3rd liners, and even middle 6 forwards, are not at a shortage, are highly interchangable, and are easy to find through maintaining good drafting. Who cares if you lose middle sixers, even a guy like Johnsson, if you can keep a pipeline stocked with guys waiting to replace him.

If they do it, they key is this cycle: trade middle 6 F for picks/prospects, let an older pick/prospect/euro signing take his spot, and repeat and repeat and repeat. It can be done if done correctly

Moving Nylander for 2 lesser players and futures hurts the team so much.

think of it as moving Nylander for 2 lesser, but very good players, futures, and Pietrangelo

We can make other moves to make him fit. Although I am not sure I want a long term. If it could be a 2 year deal, that would be awesome!
