Steen doesn't waive his NTC for Jersey and Palms is likely to be extended and the new captain. Without him our top line has either Bratt out of position or Joey Anderson at RW. NJ declines.

Ah, wasn't sure if they were planning to keep him around or not. Tbh he could be a rental for STL and still go back to NJ and sign after the season, although that is pretty rare.

Hischier will be next captain. Just my guess.

Also Bratt can play RW fine - especially with Gusev when they have got right-shot LW and left-shot RW and allows center to trail a bit. But leaves big hole in power play.

Haven’t heard much lately about Klim Kostin. What is STL thinking in him?

He's already got 3 years of AHL under his belt so he's probably looking to break into a roster very soon. Big frame winger, hasn't set the AHL on fire but I usually see scouting reports concerned with his consistency rather than his skill. He hasn't been featured in a big role and the team around him has been pretty bad from what I gather, so I wouldn't write him off yet, he'll only be 21 this season. He's our 2nd-best prospect (farm is thin fwiw) and he probably tops out as a middle six power forward type guy. LH shot can play either wing. Needs to add a little quickness to his first few steps but to me, he looks like a player. Expansion exempt.

Yeah pick 34 exchanged for 2 guys that will sum to about 30 goals, filling 4.5m of the cap. Probably a good deal for SJS, Blues really just needed the space with these (unlikely) big moves.

You can't play Goose and Bratt on the same line. Neither can play D.

I remember WAY back in the day (D-1) he was supposed to be top-10 pick. Think he got hurt right before draft (shoulder maybe).

Gusev and Bratt played together this year with Zajac. They were paired just after Hall left and they both thrived.

Yeah even on Central Scouting's final 2017 rankings, Kostin was the #1 European skater... ahead of *holds back laughter* Pettersson, (Andersson), Heiskanen, and Necas. He was hyped to be a Malkin 2.0 - a big guy that could dominate - and quickly came back down to earth, coinciding with an injury in his DY. He has been a good player for Russia internationally though.
