I guess? Wondering why TOR would do it though.

I mean both Rakell and Manson have regressed from what they were a couple of years ago, while Marner is an established 90 point winger...

Just don't think a move as such make them a better team.

Remove Manson don't want him he is a bottom pairing guy at best after his last two seasons. One of the more overrated guys in the league imo. He just had one good year and that was it.

Playing with better players in Toronto should get them back to where they were

Maybe, but still Marner in '18-19 scored more points than Rakell did last two years combined. There's a significant level/value gap in here. I personally think there's not enough value going Leafs' way there.

Me neither. Just purely looking the statistics, and I'd say Marner is, at least when it comes to the regular season, a TOP5 RW in the league.

Do you think the leafs would be better with marner or manson rakell terry tanev and boston’s 1st?

The idea, I'd imagine, is that they get a D while also getting a replacement winger. Makes sense in theory, but imo, when you take into account the quality of the players involved and the term on the guys coming back from Anaheim, I don't know that the Leafs should jump at this.

What i was thinking was leafs get a rd and replacement and can hold onto johnsson and kerfoot and dermott and can move those guys easier for when they need to re sign reilly and andersen

Simply put, no. Why give up 5 good or better pieces for one very good piece at the same cap hits? The ducks could put together multiple packages with those players/picks to get multiple pieces that upgrade the team.

Hard to say. Probably in terms of filling some of the holes this trade would be beneficial for the Leafs. Then again, the lack of Marner's production would likely reflect on their other star players. Think about Leafs' centers for example. Tavares was statistically above Matthews in '18-19 when Marner played with him, but after Marner got paired with Matthews in '19-20, Matthews' numbers got expotentially better.

If they lose production of their top guys, then obviously moving Marner would be a bad idea in general...

But you leaf fans think one good year from Reilly and he’s a top 5 D in the league....

When did I ever say that? Reilly is definitely top 25 but I never said anything about top 5

No he had one good year at 37 points and he was great defensively, but all other years he has been bad both offensively and defensively.
