Hawks Pens

Created by: Mr_Gardoki
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 4, 2020
Published: Oct. 4, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Multiple reports are CHI is interested in Murray.
CHI doesn't have the Space for Murray.
With Dach coming up, they don't necessarily need Strome although he'd be a luxury. McCann would be a bargain replacement for 3C.
Obviously if CHI really wants Murray they will have to find a way to make the space, so I won't speculate on how they do that.

You're getting McCann as well. I think it balances.

Honestly, I would maybe give McCann a 2nd round pick in value so the value is off as again, Strome is worth quite a bit more then Murray

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. You're very much undervaluing Murray.

No, I'm not. The goalie market is way too flooded and Murray is coming off of a pretty bad season and has been streaky as a goalie. At best he's worth a late 1st. However, a 23 year old 2C RFA that's put up .76ppg at the ages of 21 and 22 since joining the Hawks is worth substantially more then a streaky goalie coming off of a bad season in a flooded goalie market. Hawks easily pass on this idea.

Dude, you're just wrong. Simply a fact. You're wrong. You can keep arguing, but you'd continue to be wrong.

I don't care how flooded the market is. Murray is coming off a rough year that was filled with injury and personal loss. He also bounced back in the playoffs this year regardless of the loss. He wasn't the reason the Penguins lost. So yeah, doesn't matter how many goalies are on the market, they aren't all at the level he is. So yeah... wrong.

Yeah, he doesn't get it. He also doesn't realize the value in receiving a cost-controlled player.

Ok then swap Murray for Jarry and keep Murray for yourself.

We can't afford him hence the reason he's being moved, genius. When you have a cheaper capable option and you're spending the cap, you take it. Thank you, come again.

Ok well the Hawks don't want Murray. So if you are offering Murray, we will offer you Z. Smith, Seabrook, or De Haan

I'm not trolling. Multiple Hawks fans told you we didn't think the value was fair because Strome>Murray and you keep insisting to push your player on us. It's like Domi with Canadiens' fans. In my opinion, the only way that we should get Murray is if we exchange them for someone that I'd prefer less than Murray. So those three players.

Maybe if Murray didn't put up a .899 on a very good Penguins team, then we'd be interested. But he did, and he's not a consistently good goalie, so therefore his value in my eyes is non existent.

You seem to know more than the legit hockey writers, wow, impressive. Because there are multiple reports out of Chicago and national writers saying Chicago is in on Murray.

Nice try again though. Keep it up.

If I had a penny for every time a "legit hockey writer" opened their mouths, I could probably pay Murray's inflated cap dump future contract

Actually they said yes.

I love how everyone thinks this is a flooded market. Yeah, it's flooded with old goalies on their way out and you guys aren't getting Markstrom. So hey, if you want to get a cheap one year option on an old goalie and still stink, by all means.

Because you guys can't afford to have both Kubalik and Strome if you want to get any legit starting goalie. Are all you hawks fans this dense?

Let us worry about Kubalik and Strome's contract

LMAO clearly you don't know what you're talking about. .76ppg players are not 3Cs....name 5 3Cs in the league that put up those kind of numbers. Stop trolling

I don't know maybe considering Jarry just got 3.5 and I doubt that Murray will take less than his backup and Lehner just got 5. I'd rather go after Markstrom or Holtby or any of the other free agent goalies. Or just keep Crawford because whatever cap hit Murray is gonna demand will probably be fine with Crawford who is easily the better goalie
