They have multiple goalies in their system and their owner said he'd never draft a d-man in the first round so why would he draft a goalie? Even if Askarov was on the board, Carolina wouldn't have been picking him

I like the pick by CAR. But I think it was a panic move. I think most people had him going a bit lower. But he's one of the fastest guys in the daft.
I think it's a great pick.
