The biggest problem is if you go back on your word....no player will even give you any "hometown" discount again. Hawks fans blame Bowman for a lot, but the reason he keeps getting Euro players to sign with the Hawks is because it was literally the 82nd game of the year that allowed Panarin to get his schedule B bonuses. Stan could have easily tanked resting for the playoffs, but he didn't. Now every player knows without a doubt that if the hawks sign you...you'll get literally EVERY opportunity they can give you.
