In before Pens fans say "not enough" even though it is definitely the best trade they could ever make.

Edit: Best trade for the future

That's a lot to give up for a few years of Crosby, although that first line would be cool to watch. Plus, its not like Pittsburgh is in the dumps *yet*, so it's not like Crosby needs "saving".

We're talking about Crosby, so the last thing I'll say is it's too much to give up. That said, what this does is marginally improve the Cup chances for the next couple years, while severely damaging the Cup chances thereafter. I already like Colorado's chances, so I wouldn't do it.

This offseason was their last chance to salvage their window. GMJR slammed it shut.

Crosby and Mackinnon on the same team would be so cool to see. But you're giving up the prime of rantannen and the entirety of Byram and a first for 3-5 years of a declining SId. Albeit he is Sid, father time is undefeated.

The MAF trade is an abomination, especially considering VGK was rumored to be offering a 2nd to anybody that would just take him.

that's not true. After next season Malkin and Letang come off the books. There is a huge amount of cap opening up.
they will have one more window.

COL says no, Crosby will be 34 by time of playoffs this coming season.
That deal is a yes maybe 2-3 seasons earlier

It would be cool and would only happen if both Sid and Nate went to management and said make this happen.

Yeah just no. VGK could add a 1st and 2nd and COL still isn’t doing that trade

not remotely dude
Think closer to 5-7th best.
McDavid / MacKinnon / Draisaitl have all passed him. Hes in the mix with Kucherov / Panarin / Malkin / Matthews

3rd. Mcdavid, Mackinnon, Crosby. If you asked me to make a list of guys I want on my team to win one game. game seven cup final, gold medal, etc. Crosby has to be top 3. Guy performs when it matters better than anyone else.

I would bet that if there was a complete draft for a "covid year" and every team redrafted for 1 year only then 90% of the teams would select Sidney Crosby first overall.
