First round exit.

Oh and everyone says no. I think Weegar has more value than a 2nd round pick.

If there were not a salary cap, as a Caps fan, I'd shrug off a trade for Wilson or Vrana for Marner. Under the cap, no thanks.

It'd be about like Wilson passing to Ovechkin, but with five or ten more even strength points a year, two hundred fewer hits, and twice the salary, plus no Vrana on the 2nd line, and no first round draft pick. Wooo. Yay.

Bruh how you gunna underexaggerate and overexaggerate in the same sentence. 5 or 10 more even strength points... wilson had 44 points last year and marner had 67 in 10 less games? Next time you come at the goat... don't miss.

Seven. Seven more even strength points. That's somewhere between five and ten. http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20192020&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=2&position=R&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=evPoints&page=0&pageSize=100

If Marner is the Greatest Of All Time, you probably wouldn't be trading him for two middle six guys on a team that, over the last few years, gets fewer regular season points than the Leafs. Save it. Marner's as good as Wilson and a tiny bit better than Vrana. Two for one with a first round pick could totally happen if the Caps start rebuilding and the Leafs throw in a couple top prospects. I'm hoping it's a couple more years away, as a Caps fan.

eta: but you got the pick on the wrong side.

Wilson and Marner are not on the same level I am sorry, saying Marner's as good as Wilson is a joke and I can't take you seriously when you say that. (wilson also played 11 more games then marner.) And based on your logic is connor brown is better then tom wilson and zack kassian is better then Brock Boeser because EVP?? Common bro. Again, don't miss.

Weegar is so underrated, really effective defender, and FLA really lacks good DFDs other than him. Doubt that anything like this would go through...

Connor Brown is pretty good. Kassian has a lot of down years. Explaining Marner's weaknesses to most Toronto fans is like pointing out a typo in a translation of the Bible. Marner is a terrific hockey player. He would probably still get a lot of points even if he didn't switch off between playing with two of the best goal-scoring centers in the NHL. I like him. I think he's very good. I also think Tom Wilson is an underrated 1st line right wing, who also does almost as well as his linemates, and who also takes advantage of opportunities on special teams when he gets them. If you think I'm trying to disrespect Marner, you misunderstand how much respect I have for Wilson. Both are just fine 1st line right wings who help their team control the puck, and each excels at a different style of regaining possession. Marner's among the best at takeaways, and Wilson's among the best at bodychecking. Each translates to their linemates having the puck more and getting a lot of points.

You bring up how marner is playing with matthews and tavares, 2 great goal scorers but doesn't wilson play with ovechkin? One of the best goal scorers ever. I defiantly don't think marner is worth is contract, but he is also a 90+ point play and an elite talent. I don't think I put wilson under the "elite" category.

He doesn't have to be elite. Ovechkin is back at the top of the goals leaderboard since he started playing with Tom Wilson. Their styles compliment each other well because they each finish their checks and drive the net, so together they overwhelm defenses.

Vrana had 40 even strength points last year. Marner had 42. Vrana's cap hit is a third of Marner's Tere is no way WSH makes that trade.

If you want a 1st pick and you want to move Marner's contract to Washington this summer, start with Kuznetsov, and then throw in bottom-six wings until the cap balances. Vrana and Wilson unfortunately are not in the conversation---eta: unless the Caps start rebuilding. Then a two for one is fine if Tor throws in a 1st and a couple of top prospects.

You think OV is getting goal cause of wilson, wait till marner plays with OV... OV will crack 60 goals every year. Also marner playing on your top PP unit would be lethal. And marner can also carry his own line, where as wilson and varan can't.

Kuznetsov at 1L with Matthews would get 40 goals a year and set Matthews up for 50. Kuznetsov, Hagelin, and Panik for Marner, plus whatever balances the cap. Kerfoot? Engvall? Doesn't matter.

WSH throws in a 1st for age, a future 2nd for reputation, and a distant future 3rd to overpay. Tor throws in some guys they'd end up waiving, to give them a chance to stay in the NHL.
