Chabot and tkachuk, are the franchise, would set the rebuild back to year one or basically starting line. Gallagher, drouin, and Danault have no real value to Ottawa at this point.

Lol, I know Chabot is good, and tkachuk is a fun player to watch... but that is being delusional. That trade would make ottawa a better team instantly and for the foreseeable future.

To ottawa, they seem like gods compared to the chums you have in the rest of your lineup.

Gally is top 5 5v5 scorer since 2017. Danault one of the best 200ft centerman in the game. Romanov is looking like a stud... the. You add Drouin, a 50+ pts player, a first and a 2nd...

Dorion would cream his pants to this offer.

Ottawa isn’t overly close though, they truly need a nucleus to add these pieces too, Gally is on the wrong side of 30, drouin is still relatively young, Romanov would be a solid plan for the build, but the players just don’t fit at the moment. Window isn’t overly close to open yet for Ottawa, you don’t build to bubble or age out before you even get a sniff.

Fair enough, I thought he was a little older, Ottawa is need of the 25 and under base and nucleus, before they add the vets to finish off the build. Ottawa has something solid building, but Two or 3 years away from buying the Toffoli and anderson or whatever the Need is to complete the build.

I knew from the beginning it was controversial and crazy
It was a business exercice viewd from Melnick greedy side.

I love Gallagher Danault and Drouin and think we finally have a real competitive team.
I would not make that trade just after signing Gallagher.

Idea was triggered by the Base Salaries for 2020-2021
Gallagher 1 000 000$
Drouin 2 500 000$
Danault 3 250 000$

Crazy things happens theses days.
Happily we are just fans and not managers.
