Boy, that's alot of bravado accompanying abysmal analysis, like seriously that type of input might as well come from those infamous drunken yahoo CHI fans
Liljegren only turned 21 this year and was on pace for 50+ points in a full AHL season. Similar to Krug, Barrie, Vatanen, Faulk, etc. In his draft -1 he was seen as a top 2017 prospect in part because his scoring rates that year were in the 'historic' range and he was very mature for his age. Also his talent. That combo of skating, puck control and awareness is quite rare.
Kerf scores at a 40 point pace yearly, good two way, if that isn't worth 3.5M$ then gosh... what is exactly?
That's interesting you view his scoring rates in 16/17 being "historic". Do you mean the 15/16 season in the SJ20 in Sweden, because certainly they weren't "historic" the season before he was drafted? The real head scratcher here, given how weak Toronto's RHD is, why wouldn't have Lillypad been brought up for 10 games at least this past season if he's so good? The reason is Lillypad doesn't play great defense.
When I said Lillypad is "useless" to Chicago the reason is with Boqvist, Mitchell, Murphy, Seabrook and Regula, where does the 21 year old (going on 22 years old) fit in exactly? Above Regula who just put up 60 points the in OHL last year? Possibly I guess but doesn't really move the needle when we have a logjam already on defensive players who aren't a given for a first line role on the left side.
Where is Kerfoot and his $3.5M cap hit fitting in Chicago? Who's he playing in place that warrants a $3.5M cap hit when we are loaded with defensive forwards? Kerfoot was on pace for 35 points this season (prorated to 82 games), I'm sorry but 35 point to 40 point forwards aren't worth $3.5M in this cap environment for teams that are close to the cap.
You can "try" to insult my first comment, but if you followed the thread you would clearly see the reasoning. You'd be better served to explain how you think this works for Chicago and how these players fit in on Chicago's current team and given their prospect pool instead of trying to explain who the Toronto players are; I know you're new here but it is a given with most senior members on here being well aware of the players they comment on.
