Maybe but i would love to get Primeau on the hawks solves the goalie issue long term . Throw in a second rd pic if necessary . Habs have Price signed long term and just resigned Jake ALLEN as a backup . Habs need to save some cap space for this year they also need a top two defence prospect LD they have none in the system and Beaudin gives them that and is probably ready this year or at the latest next season and he is a quebecer

What the hell are you talking about? We have Mattias Norlinder, Alexander Romanov, and Kaiden Guhle on LD, who are all better than Beaudin. And that’s in addition to Harris & Struble. And signing Allen as a backup does not solve the issue of a future starter.

I know but your entire NHL LHDs are bottom 4 guys. Edmundson, Kulak, Chiarot, Mete. None of those guys are good enough for the 1st pairing, that’s why I said Romanov gotta step up

It’s not a problem if your 2 best defensemen play the same side, like TBL & STL have shown. Assuming that Romanov can play up to Vince Dunn’s level, our D is very similar to the 18-19 Blues:

Weber/Petry = Pietrangelo/Parayko
Chiarot = Bouwmeester
Romanov = Dunn
Edmundson = Edmundson
Mete/Kulak/Juulsen/Fleury = Gunnarsson/Bortuzzo

Beaudin isn’t very strong. Norlinder, Romanov and guhle are all better. We won’t give up primeau just because. Armia is very valuable and is making 2.6(pretty cheap)

Romanov is not a offensive dman . Norlinder has never played in north america so you do not know what you have and he is still unsigned and he is not an offensive dman Guhle is 18 and will and is a RD . Harris and STRUBLE are you serious ? They are 3 to 5 years away . Habs need a top three RD i think its the only weekness they have this will probably be the best habs team in the last twenty years . If they can stay away from injuries to key players SUZUKI AND KOTKANIEMI keep developing they can go far . Habs have PRICE signed for the next 6 season at an untradeable 10.5 mil and Jake Allen signed for the next three seasons where does Primeau fit in ?

I don’t know what you’re going on about Romanov not being an offensive D-man, even if he isn’t it doesn’t really matter. Questioning Norlinder’s ability to make the NHL, but treating Beaudin like a sure thing is hypocrisy. Guhle shoots left.
Primeau plays in tandem with Price for the last 3 years of his contract.

Why would he resign with MTL after his elc is over to stay in minors ?? He would have to clear waivers after next season to play in the minors do you think he would clear waivers ???

He isn’t waiver eligible until 23-24. And he has no choice but to sign a contract, he’s an RFA.
And if he does prove that he’s NHL ready, it won’t be that hard to trade Allen.

ROMANOV played 86 games in the last two seasons in the KHL and had 11 points that is not am offensive dman and the most points he has ever scored at any level is 15 in a 50 game season by what stretch of the imagination is he an offensive dman ??

if he plays 9 more games in the next two seasons he is eligible for waivers at 22 yrs old right after his elc ends

No one here said he was an offensive D-man. And I see where the problem is. You’re looking at his KHL stays without understanding how the KHL works. Young players don’t get ice time there, and he was playing as an 18 year old on one of the 2 best teams in the league. And the KHL doesn’t care about development, so he was given bad minutes where he doesn’t have much of an opportunity. If you actually watch him play in places like the world juniors, you’ll see his offensive potential where he’s playing against his peers and is given ample opportunity to succeed offensively.

No. He’ll be waiver eligible 3 seasons from now, or when he plays 76 more games. And if he does play 9 games, that would mean we’ve traded Allen.

End of the day even if they keep Primeau Habs need a top 3 RD . Chariot and edmunston are 3rd pairing dmen at best Chariot is a number 4 . People have to stop thinking players are better then they are just because there played out of desperation and a lack of depth in positions they should not be playing ideally . I love Danault but just because he was played as 1c does not make him a 1c . He is an ok 2nd line center on a middle of the pack team or an AMAZING 3RD line center he has a career high of 13 goals playing 1c show me one team in the nhl that has a 1c that scores 13 goals or even 2c that has a career high of 13 goals ???? Same goes for CHARIOT and Edmunston they are not true top 4 dmen
