Tierney > Kerfoot

Both players are strong defensively but Tierney has better production.

Interesting analysis ... did you look at the stats?

Kerfoot = 113 points in 222 games = 0.51 points/game = 42 points per 82 games
Tierney = 189 points in 436 games = 0.43 points/game = 35 points per 82 games

And Kerfoot was signed before Covid while Tierney was signed after.

Big difference.

You should look at Tierney's last 3 years of production before that he wasn't as good.

Kerfoot was also playing the wing which increases point totals not to mention he was playing with better players.

Not really lul

better production being 5 more points lul in his best season

Plus kerfoots got the stronger 5 vs 5 defensive numbers

So no he aint > as both guys are the same thing. Give kerfoot a 2nd line role and he would probs increase production.

Kerfoots Pk from what I could find is 75% from his time in both Colorado and when he played in Toronto though his limited Pk moments

When he was the number 1/2 center on one of the worst teams in the league? Gobbling up powerplay points?

Kerfoot is a 3rd line center behind Matthews + Tavares getting zero PP time and they still produce at the same rate.

Tierney is more playmaker than finisher. He won't score much, but creates oportunities for his teammates.

That's not altogether accurate either. Tierney relies on other players to create offense. Here's his IPP (individual points percentage) compared to his most common wingers:

Tierney: 65.79
Duclair: 77.14
Brown: 83.33

Kerfoot spent 46% of his TOI playing wing to a star center last year: 276 minutes with Tavares + 33 minutes with Matthews + 74 minutes with Nylander (w/o Tavares or Matthews) = 383 of a total of 831 5v5 minutes.

Also, Kerfoot got 83 minutes of PP time last year but scored only 3 points, for an abysmal 2.18 P/60 scoring rate. Tierney actually got LESS powerplay time - just 68:37 - and scored at a slightly better rate of 2.62 P/60.

It's like arguing over who is the taller dwarf. But at least look up the facts before spewing garbage.

Incorrect stats.

And you're not talking about 3 years anymore?

No longer a good comparison?

It's a "which dwarf is taller?" comparison. It doesn't matter - they're both short.

no it's not. there are tons of 20 goal scorers signed in the 3-3.5 million range.
Rust and Kapanen on the penguins alone(signed by two different teams mind you) just an example. 3-3.5 mil is the going rate on those guys.
There are guys on every team on that kind of deal. The market now is for cheaper contracts, definitely not any raises.

I'm shorter than both of them.

And you have been reported for offending me on the internet.

I just cancelled my WIFI - I can't take it anymore.
