Somehow, (call me crazy), I just don't see the Islanders going through the trouble of re-signing their franchise Centre to a new 8 year contract just to trade him away at the deadline for a bunch of spare parts from the Habs.

I'm sure the Islander faithful will confirm this notion shortly.

Kulak is worth more, Weal is worth less, you can't sign RFA's after December 1st though they will most likely change that rule for this season, NYI reject not enough value for them, 20 man roster and over the cap. Did i cover everything ?
