I wouldn’t go for Letang. ADA is young and is starting to rise up.

Letang is on a one year deal, he is a rental, we can't keep TDA for super long considering the depth of our D prospects

I reserve judgment on the Letang trade until:
-I know who those prospects are
-and until the TDL to see if the pens are out of it and want to blow it up + if Letang/geno will accept traded...

I made that trade thinking it would happen at the deadline and the pens are rebuilding and Letang wants to go to a playoff team.

So you’re saying that 2022 they’ll be contenders already

I don't think they will win the cup but I think they can go on a run to the second or third round

I don’t know who those prospects are. But I would think Letang brings back a young NHL player with potential(like Deangello) a “B+” or “A-“ prospect. And a 1st for 2nd round pick. Probably a late round 1st. He is still 33. He’s not ancient. He still had 44 points in 61 games last year. Still runs the point on the PP as good as any RHD. And had 56 points in 65 games the year before that and was A Plus/Minus 13. He was just voted a top 10 defender in the NHL for the upcoming season from NHL network. And is making under 8M/ year. Usually the cost of a top RHD. And like I said, Runs the point on the PP and plays PK minutes too. 25 plus minutes a game.

that won't get you letang, even as a rental.
Penguins probably bring letang back on a discount after next season. So I don't see this moving the needle.
