Description
Not a Lightning fan, but I feel these players would be the ones to be moved to make space for signing Cerelli and Sergachev. I dont know how the value of these trades would stack up to these players so any ideas would be cool. Trades are probably dog s**t but the whole idea of this is to have an idea of maybe whos out and who stays.

Johnson and Killorn are definitly trade bait, but either Palat or Gourde would be another. For now, I have Palat

Can't see the hawks accepting that. They just traded sad away to get younger now they're gonna trade draft picks to get a guy older than sad? No way.

Gourde is also old and doesn’t fit what Chicago is trying to do. I just don’t see the hawks trading any picks for expensive older players.

Every GM knows the ****ty position Tampa is in. They're gonna take advantage of that. It's gonna cost atleast a 1st to get rid of Johnson. Killorn might get a 4th rounder back but nothing more. Palat might get a 3rd back. Gourde would probably cost another 1st and then some. It's not cheap dumping over 25 mil in cap that gourde takes up

Tyler Johnson isn't waiving his full NTC for Ottawa, Alex Killorn isn't going to Toronto they don't have the cap for him. And the Hawks are heading towards a rebuild and want to get younger. So Ondrej Palat doesn't fit for what they're trying to do.

Leafs certainly don't have the cap for Killorn. Actually almost all teams that probably on Killorn's trade list, have no cap to take on salary without giving back equal salary to Tampa.
No reason Johnson waives to Ottawa or any team want his 5m X 4 contract
Why should Palat waive his NTC?

IMO almost all the posts that these Tampa trades of players waiving their NTCs are not practical. Tampa is gonna to have to trade their RFAs.....to be cap compliant

Keep posting that Johnson wouldn't waive to Ottawa and ignore the fact Ottawa doesn't want Johnson.

These armchair GM posts are the same lame trade after lame trade, followed by the same exact reason why they're lame, with the occasional slam against a team people don't like.

Sorry TBL fans, Yzerman screwed you guys over for the next 3-5 years with some of these contracts he gave out.

This is not how it works.

Teams don't pay to acquire the 5 last years of an aging 3rd line C at 5M/yr. They get compensated for it. If you want to get rid of Johnson you need to do 3 of these 4 things:

- absorb some money
- take back a bad contract, albeit smaller
- part ways with a solid prospect
- part ways with picks including at least a 1st rounder
