Description
And by “this,” I mean two moves, a trade and a roster move. I realize the trade makes zero sense from Tampa’s perspective in terms of player style they’re getting in return, but perhaps it is cost control.

How is it cost controlled when you signed him for 3.5M? Is Strome signing for sub 2M?

Strome underrated for sure but man Cirelli is so damn good I often feel like Tobias Fünke after checking his SKATR charts with how blue it is

If the downgrade is due to TB hands tied fair enough

But with AC at 3.5M$ it doesn't appear to hold water

Because in three years, toews, Kane, and Keith are up. Not really thinking cost control since the cap frees up at the end of his contract.

I’m obviously not a big strome fan honestly. Cirelli I’m a very big fan of. This is an obvious downgrade for Tampa given everything cirelli can do. However, I don’t think him getting 3.5 is the issue for Tampa, it’s that cernak is still unsigned and no one wants Johnson.

Man. Erie teammates. I would have never guessed years ago when I was tracking Debrincat that Cirelli would turn out better than Strome. Heck I thought TRad would be better that Cirelli too. Gotta give him credit.

I still want to see Cirelli play away from this stacked team though. Its a non-zero percent risk. But yes cirelli is a good 2-way center.
