Idea of Skinner waiving his NMC is interesting. He may be ok doing that.
Less likely (imo), is Seattle choosing an overpaid winger right off the bat.

Why would you take Stralman without massive compensation from Florida? He’s lost more than a step or two

Well making they could be compensated for it, but I'm sure they'll take into account his 40 goal season playing with good linemates vs him not playing with good linemates last season as well as how he is being treated right now. Skinner seams to me like a Karlsson-like scenario with Seattle.

Do you have a better recommendation for a top 4 defensive guy who could be exposed? I wanted Acciari, but I needed a defensive Dman to play with Dermott or Bean.

He isn’t anymore take an ELC FROM Florida. Plenty of other places a fourth defenseman would be available from. Maybe a Marco Scandella from St. Louis. Tampa Bay let him walk for a reason. He and Hedman Are good friends and Tampa bay still let him go

Gustavsson has starter potential so I figured they'd protect him since he's younger and isn't struggling like Murray.

He obviously wanted more money than they could afford. Unless you can suggest a better option for a top 4 defensive guy then he stays.

Fair enough.

@csick who do you think will be protected, Murray or Gustavsson?

I'll edit it depending on what csick says.

Skinner waiving makes sense, but how do they get both Him and Okposo.

Buffalo would be doing backflips to get rid of 15 million overnight

Okposo would be a trade and Seattle would be compensated. I might change it though.

ill say Murray. Losing Gustavsson or Hogberg woudlnt hurt with Sogard, Mandolese, Merileinen and Daccord also in the fold. But we dont have a goalie for the now so i doubt theyll lose Murray

I edited it. Took Gustavsson, Acciari, Kampf, True, and Holtby. Signed Armia and Larsson. Took off Murray, Virtanen, and Stralman.

Wasn’t trying to be a schmuck or anything but Stralman is just not the player he was three years ago four years ago.

Will be interesting build, I don’t believe Seattle taking on any term beyond 2 years with out compensation, probably a similar lightning in a bottle approach that Vegas took, with young cheap guys on the edge of breaking into the lineups of there respective teams. Theodore/Schmidt/karlson, I wonder if there’s a team that gifts them some skill like Florida. Any gifts I don’t believe come with 6 year terms, but this is a crap shoot this far out

Everyone has them taking Holtby. Don’t really see it. CBJ will have to make one of Korpi or Elvis available Habs Jake Allen. Those would be the two. Holtby has been the worst goalie in the league statistically over the last 3 years.

I thought both CBJ goalies were exempt for some reason. Probably Elvis then.

I feel there will be far better options for blue liners. 95% of teams will go 7-3-1 rather than 8-1, meaning anyone with 4 top 4 dmen will be leaving someone exposed.

This D corps is pretty meh
