I don't think that Dubois would want Winnipeg because he wouldn't get the "bigger stage" and he would be the #2 center on the team. Isn't Winnipeg the smallest city in the league? Then again he has no say in where he goes

Can't stress how neither team is ideal. Winnipeg isn't the big stage he wnts and sticks him behind Scheifele, and Laine would struggle a lot as a Jacket (also that trade value is way better for columbus)

Montreal already has the young Cs, no reason to move them for dubois, and they have too many top 6 anyways.

Best Places: Rangers, apparently there is something materializing around strome. This would make a Panarin-Dubois-Kakko line. Minnesota isn't a big stage but he would fit. If vegas could make some magic, he would be a good fit there. Calgary would be a good fit, he would be the 1C. Boston is a really hot take, but if they could pull it off they would look really solid. Arizona, certainly not a big stage and doesn't really have assets but man would he be nice there.

The 3 destinations I think make the most sense for Dubois and CBJ are MTL, LAK, or DAL.

Montreal makes sense but also doesn't since they can't afford him and they have 3 good centers but he is french and would be an upgrade on Danault and Kk

My biggest concern with montreal is Jarmo will ABSOLUTELY push for Suzuki or KK, however MTL will likely only do something like Danault + Caufield + Norlinder. The next problem is that no way CBJ trades him without a center with term coming back, and Danault is likely not going to extend without playing here. Ultimately my hot take is that it will be KK + Norlinder for PLD + Carlsson

They have the excess centers to make the deal happen though -- and DAL with Hintz -- and LAK with their plethora of young talent

For people that don't think MTL would be willing to trade KK is fooling themselves. Dubois is clearly an upgrade over KK and being French Canadian certainly ups his value whether people.like it or not. Dubois and Suzuki down the middle is a severe upgrade over Suzuki and KK. KK is going to be a decent center, but Dubois will have a much better career.

I really do not think Jarmo would trade PLD this year unless we were out of playoff contention. Also, I highly doubt he would ever trade to a division opponent or even a conference rival unless the trade would blow him outta of the water. It would have to be a panarin from Blackhawks to CBJ type of deal for example.
