I must admit I don't know a lot about Dunn, but from what I can tell he doesn't seem like much of an upgrade over Dermott but costs a lot more.

He's a more stable defensemen, who is from Oakville, ON, a proven winner with a Stanley Cup ring, and can play up and down the pairings if needed lmao

Having a Stanley Cup ring does not make someone a proven winner. Bozak is a good player and I liked him but he has a ring wasn't the reason St Louis won.

A player owning a ring is part of the equation, but the experience, competitiveness, and the mind of winning is the differentiation. In short, Vince Dunn knows how to win important games, while Travis Dermott does not

How did Dunn learn that? And was he a huge reason they won? Or did he do his job while the stars forced them to the promised land?

If he's not from Oakville its not worth it. The place you were born is too essential for determining how good of a hockey player you are. He better not be from Burlington or Mississauga

Dermott is arguably slightly better than Dunn. Even if you say he's not, the difference is not a 2nd round pick. Dermott is far better defensively reliable than Dunn. If it weren't for being carried by the likes of Parayko and Pietrangelo last year, he wouldn't even be getting talked about right now.

Leafs also don't need anymore d-man. Dermott is likely on the market because of then having too many, if St. Louis was interested it would have to be for a guy like Jordan Kyrou instead.

Points aren't everything in hockey.

But Dunn us also played more games and on a better playoff team than Dermott.

Dunn PPG in playoffs is 0.38 and Dermott's is 0.27 but Dermott is much more reliable defensively. Dunn is an offensive guy.

That user didn't mention points. He asked what Dunn did to help. Meaning what about his play actually helps.
As you can see, no mention of points..

What is the point of the Wagner trade. We can just keep Engvall (who can be better offensively).

The Leafs need to stop relying on AHLers, and get real NHL players to make a deep playoff run

Its hard to get points in the playoffs when you play 4 games on the 4th line with low minutes

Playing for a winning team just means you play for a winning team. Has nothing to do with "knowing how to win". Stop trolling the leafs please. No one is going to deny Dunn is better, but his being better has nothing to do with knowing how to win.

By the way, love you user flair tears of joy new to capfriendly ya right.

And who cares about the answer to this question? That's right nobody because Engvall has played, what, 3 playoff games?
