Boy, maybe Calgary does it, but that's something that (at least if I were the GM) I would want the approval of the players.

Tkachuk ain't moving.

Try Gaudreau instead.

Philly has no interest in Gaudreau, Koneckny is a similar and more cost controlled player. As much as Calgary doesn't want to part with Tkachuk? That's the same amount Philly doesn't want to acquire Gaudreau.

PHI'd probably make it a 1st, but CAL fans will stay say no, but its a pretty nice package that is financially sound and spreads some talent.

Similar how? Gaudreau is significantly better offensively

similar skill set, Gaudreau is the better offensive player, koneckny is younger, plays with a bit more edge, but Gaudreau is the better player, but hes also paid more with less term (3 yrs less), and PHI is not a one 1 or 2 line team, they balance almost 3 forward lines, so Gaudreau would in all likelihood get less icetime than in CAL.

For PHI theres not a large enough upgrade to make it worth while.

Is Gaufdreau better than Koneckny? Yes, but once age, salary and term are compared, IMO they are equal.

Gaudreau is 27, Koneckny is 23
Gaudreau has 2 yrs left at 6.75mil, Koneckny has 5 yrs left at 5.5mil

Last year Gaudreau had 59pts in 70 games, Koneckny had 61 pts in 66 games
This year, Gaudreau has 11 pts in 10 games, Koneckny has 8 pts in 10 games

Both lightning fast but smallish guys, IMO very similar in style and production, Gaudreau is the better player but again age and contract even that out pretty easily

ADA was well-liked among his teammates in NY.

Maybe, but there's no denying that he has had issues in the past. And even if he was well liked, his ending there probably left a bad taste with some players. It'll be interesting to see where he plays next.

As a flyers fan, I like this trade. Although I would hate to see Konecny go, he would have to be part of a package like this.
