Getting back into it

Team: 2020-21 Ottawa Senators
Team Explanation
You can at least beat Vancouver
Trades
OTT
  1. Deangelo, Anthony
Additional Details:
Tony D needs a change of scenery. Trading him to a Canadian market team should negate the obvious Twitter issues (if he ever gets back to the app). He’s got a chance to redeem himself on a very wide open D core. Stepan needs a chance of scenery, Ottawa experiment failed, he prefers an American market, NYR just lost Chytil long term, maybe gets the Rangers back in the playoff hunt
NYR
  1. Stepan, Derek ($2,300,000 retained)
  2. 2022 4th round pick (OTT)
OTT
  1. Bennett, Sam
  2. Zagidulin, Artyom
Additional Details:
OTT essentially flips 2 TBL cap dumps to CGY for Bennett. Perfect opportunity to let younger guys like Kylington & Dube work their way into the Top 4 and Top 9 with perfect 4th line & 3rd pairing guys like Paquette & Coburn coming in. Being an all Canadian trade, this negates any need to quarantine
CGY
  1. Paquette, Cédric
  2. Coburn, Braydon
OTT
  1. Dunn, Vince
Additional Details:
STL & OTT agree to this 1 for 1. Like Brannstrom, Dunn has fallen out of favour with their respective head coach. St Louis’ value for Dunn is a 1st round draft pick, and you can list down Brannstrom has a 1st round value likely.
STL
  1. Brännström, Erik
Buyouts
  • Bobby Ryan: $3,583,333
  • Dion Phaneuf: $1,354,167
Retained Salary Transactions
  • Derek Stepan: $2,300,000 (35.38%)

Why would you trade the best prospect you have for Dunn

Dube plays higher in the lineup than Bennett, that’s why Bennett wants to be moved.

Coburn would be the Flames #9 D

Ottawa has put so much stock into character and the importance of having guys who are good in the room. Tony D has proven time and again that he is at the very least an abrasive asshole who consistently rubs people the wrong way, and at worst is a huge piece of **** who is total locker room cancer.

Also from an On Ice perspective, at his very best, I'm not convinced his offensive ability (which is extremely high end) is even good enough to offset being one of the worst defensive players in the League. I'm also pretty sure that his offensive production is going to crater wherever he goes, because he won't have guys like Zibanejad and Panarin to help him pad the stats.

Also Brannstrom's upside is higher than a Vince Dunn level player imo, and I'm confident enough in his ability to grow into a player of that level that there's no chance I'd do something like that.

Dunn has not "fallen out of favor with the coach" - where do you guys get this stuff? He was benched ONE game to get his head on straight and came right back with his best two games of the season.

That's like saying Konecny fell out of favor in Philadelphia. Maybe the Blues should trade Dunn for Konecny 1 for 1 since they both got benched a game.

The only trade that I think OTT has any interest in is the CGY trade.

Does Brannstrom play the left or right? Obviously he’s a very good prospect but we already have Perunovich who’s very similar.
