So in other words the other GM’s do a bunch of drugs and just say let’s help the Rangers out?

No way we take a problem player in DeAngelo and then give up our top two young players in Romanov and Suzuki. MTL passes.

    Lafreniere did what exactly ?

I wouldn't do Suzuki vs Lafreniere straight up

Help the Rangers out? Montreal would be getting Lafreniere. You might not like the trade, but Montreal is in no way helping out the Rangers. Neither is Vancouver.

Rangers wouldn't do Lafreniere for Suzuki straight up as well.

I wouldn't include Deangelo in a package trade. Come the trade deadline I'm sure there will be a GM out there that will be desperate for offense from the defense that will pay a lot in trade for Deangelo.

I like the Montreal trade if Tatar, Deangelo, and Gauthier, are not included.

Rangers would probably as well prefer the trade if Tatar, Deangelo, and Gauthier, were not included.

MTL aren’t trading Suzuki vs Lafreniere and you’re adding Romanov on top of that it’s ridiculous

But you'd be liberating a French Canadian that's being held hostage in New York... smile Yeah, Romanov being included would probably be too much. Suzuki and a 1st would probably get you Lafreniere. Maybe not though?

    Straight up: Lafreniere for Suzuki

Doubt either side considers it for 2020-21, but I could argue both sides for the long-term

A player who is sitting at home with a 4.8 million cap hit who is a known problem on and off the ice is not going to get anything. they will be lucky to move him for free.

    Underpaying MTL and Overpaying VAN

Louie is a total dump, he comes with the 1st and maybe a 2nd for future considerations. You’re just upgrading the 1st by 10-15 spots, not really of much value other than the small chance of lottery. I do like the idea of trying to get more lottery balls though

Why would NYR move him for free? He has a very low buyout, a little over $300,000 next season and a little over $800,000 the following season. Rangers can also retain 50 percent of his salary.

Come the TDL in April, I'm sure they'll be teams in the playoff race that will desperately want to improve their power play and/or add more offense from the defense.

With less than a month to play in the regular season, a humbled and beaten Deangelo will most certainly keep his opinion to himself and watch everything he says. Especially knowing that this is his last chance to play in the NHL.

Romanov and Suzuki combined have more potential than Laf does. Suzuki is playing 1C at the age of 21 and Romanov has the potential to become a top 4 D-man and quarterback a top PP unit. Laf has the potential to be a 70-80 point player but is a left winger. I'll take Suzuki and Romanov over Laf but I could be wrong we'll see in time I guess.
